Thanks for the localization [E] is supposed to be for the energy icon, similar to this card: https://slay-the-spire.fandom.com/wiki/Adrenaline , I think it should still work in the localization, maybe you have to use the english [E] characters (copy paste) and not the chinese one as it might thinks them different characters?

 

The error is not clear, but chances it is with another mod conflict, could be the super turbo speed thing as it skips updating the character sprite, or any graphica/UI mod.

I think this is how the game deals with powers, they don't go in discard or exhaust piles, they just disapear (or "equipped" if you prefer).

I was wondering if you're planning on making any more characters for StS, I have some ideas you can borrow, and I'm willing to help with implementation where I can, but I don't have the tools or skills to make a decent mod myself, I don't think.

Yeah, I have 2 characters in mind, Tifa from FF7 and materia level up system, and Soldier/Warrior from DQ3 with unique level up and exp mechanics, assuming it would work of course, I didnt start working on either yet. Share your ideas, not sure if they would fit in.

For Tifa you could have a Limit Break mechanic/deck, and have it tie in to ryona-type "penalty" cards that are otherwise mostly negative but good for building Limit Break.  Obviously if you're doing risky/lewd cards like with Claire, the ryona-cards would be opting into high-risk gameplay, but presumably a well-built deck would give you the tools you need to survive it and make it work for you.  Relics that help you build more Limit, tanking type cards, etc.

 

Maybe also a Combo/Slots mechanic that gives you the option to chain together more attack cards than you normally would be able to, but when you use a Combo card you randomly get a Yeah! (Auto-draw and play another Combo card), Hit (Auto-draw another Combo card, but you have the option to play it or not, if you have Energy), or Miss (penalty-type) card auto-played.  A more offensive high-risk playstyle, maybe with a Relic/Power that lets you draw more than one Slots card and choose which one gets played, so you can massage the odds in your favor.

I have thought about the Limit Break and limit gauge gauge build up, I thought it might be a bit to complex to keep track off, I took a simple approach, the main idea that every card has to be useful on it's own

 

Keywords:

Level up: auto upgrades after X uses.
Limit Break: Can only be used on turn 4 and after.
Unbridled: if you have Strength, Reduce it by 1 and activate the effect.

A Tifa lewd character is definitely an interesting prospect based on your previous works.  Also an opportunity to throw out random ideas which is always fun!

 

 

Spitball idea for how limit break could be implemented in a "classic" RPGs style while working with a that level-up keyword.

 

  • Limit break - Very powerful card with Innate, Retain and is returned to your hand when used.  Cannot be upgraded normally.  Requires 100 "limit gauge" to use.  Can level up with use.  Bonus flavour - each "level" of the card could have the name and artwork of a classic FF7 Tifa limit break, starting with Beat Rush and maxing out at Final Heaven.

 

  • Limit gauge - a secondary starting relic that counts up from 0-100. Taking damage increases the counter, and most Tifa cards also increase the counter as a secondary effect (basically a reverse of what Claire's clothing relics do).  Could also be some some cards that are more focused on building limit break (Chakra/Meditate?), which would allow for it to be an architype to build towards.

 

The idea is that the player has control over when to use limit break, and has the opportunity to use it in a smart way.  Spam it to try to level it up and use the limit gauge generation efficiently, save it for emergencies only and don't worry about leveling it up, or a mix (spam on trash, try to save just before an elite/boss).

Well, here's an idea that I'm hoping to see for Tifa:

1) A corruption/horny system 

also, 1.5) Magic clothes

With Claire, when her clothes got destroyed, that was it. Tifa's clothes are "magical" and restore at the end of combat (or when you rest at a camp). With some corruption or horny mechanic, you get cards that get added to her hand, probably feature her ripping her clothes off (also reflected in her standing sprite, which hopefully faces us) for some benefit.

 

2) I did want to say that based on the Claire mod, the only thing I felt "missing" was some decisive card(s) (attack, skill, power and/or curse card (possibly innate)) that got stronger based on your corruption. And to be clear: for better or for worse.

 

Perhaps you can give Tifa a buff/penalty to her limit break based on her corruption (if you do go through with it). You can also put in (a) relic(s) that interact(s) with the corruption vs limit break thing in some way.

 

 

I do like the mechanics you stated. Unbridled sounds good and as for Limit Break being infinitely upgradeable as it upgrades with use... it might be tricky. Do you intend to have more effects add on after some upgrades?

3) Not just "numbers get bigger" but maybe it starts off "a big attack." At +1 it also inflicts vulnerable. Then at +3, it gains block too. Maybe at +5, it gives 1 str and/or dex? +7 it heals you? +10 it inflicts vulnerable first, then hits the enemy (is that even possible? lol). You can do one new effect per level, like drawing, restoring energy, inflicting frail, etc. 

All the while the numbers get bigger since you are upgrading it.

 

back to 2) with the corruption system, after reaching a certain amount of corruption, you get "corrupted limit break" or "horny limit break" or some something -> and it starts off weaker (maybe even bad to use) but as its level gets really high, it ends up being stronger than the normal limit break, incentivizing you to play well to use it.

I'mma just say "Warrior"

DQ's Warrior class can be generically used for figuring out some mechanics.

 

For some unique-aspect, you can go for different weapons. Warriors have three preferred weapons: Swords, Axes and Spears. A mechanic attached to the starting relic to equip a weapon -> and attacks that do different things depending on the weapon.

Example for one attack:

Sword: attack an additional time

Spear: attack hits all enemies

Axe: inflict vulnerable

 

Another example:

Sword: return the card back to your hand but increase the cost by 1

Spear: ignore block (and buffer maybe?)

Axe: Double Damage but exhaust the card (maybe the cost is discounted by 1 too?)

 

Skills example, to gain block

Sword: gain more block

Spear: gain a dexterity

Axe: inflict Weak (maybe if the enemy intends to attack)

 

Perhaps a relic could be picked up such that the "choose your weapon" card from the starting relic is updated in some way. If possible. You don't need to go all out, just one upgrade for each weapon type is plenty - also maybe add a cursed variant? Cursed weapons are strong but have some downside like "you cannot gain block" or some something. Big ol' risk/reward

 

If you're willing to do a corruption system, the corrupt weapon could be anything from unarmed to dildo (the upgrade) or even anal beads (possibly the cursed variant) with a unique benefits - or no benefits... or just penalties. Maybe when the corruption gets far enough, her armor goes bye bye. Possible consequences get added.

 

 

I also want to throw out the idea of doing a priest class. I'm just basing it off of this specific idea:

A corruption system which changes the standing sprite based on the corruption, ending up completely nude. Horny spells for the priest to use, culminating in some sexplosion. lol

 

 

I'm sorry if I come off aggressive for a horny/corruption/pleasure system of sorts.

Thanks for the feedback guys, but what I meant there are 3 seperate keywords, they are not on the same card. I like to keep things "simple" and not add too much effect and text.

This would make the character theme dependant on Limit break, I want it to be a rare card that wouldn't ruin your run if you didnt get it.

I actually like how Claire's clothes system works, I might do some changes, but I dislike the idea of magical clothes, sorry, maybe she fixes/restores some after a battle, but not 100% fixed.

I don't agree, there are some cards that might benefit from side effects of high corruption, but I don't want to be a whole build around it, it would be too OP and would be the default way to play her. It is supposed to be a punishment system for being too greedy/lewd.

Again, i don't want to add too much text to a card, it would confuse the player and won't be readable on smaller screens, it is also unpredictable (which upgrade would I get?), which I dislike in other games, I might do something, but a bit smaller.

I actually already made an equipment system, but limited to Sword and Shield:

 

Swords
Tier 0:
Copper Sword: starter, no changes

Tier 1:
Steel Sword: STR+1
Blizzard Sword: Channel 1 blizzard each turn.
Fire Sword: apply 1 burning per attack.

Tier 2:
Hero’s Sword:  STR+2
Dark Sword: Channel 1 Darkness each turn.
Poison Sword: STR-1, Apply 2 Poison per attack

Shields:
Tier 0:
Copper Shield: starter, no changes.

Tier 1:
Steel Shield: Dex+1
Scale Shield: Thorns+2

Tier 2:
Hero’s Shield: STR+1 DEX+1
Silver Shield: Plated Armor +2
Heavy Shield: STR-1 DEX+3

Yea, that idea would make limit break a central part of the character so the base card would need to be part of the initial deck.  It would probably also be a balancing nightmare to try to figure out how strong it should be and how often it can be used.  Also... I'm now recalling that us players can have a hard time not playing in the most degenerate way possible if it is effective, so a super power card you can charge up and bring into the next fight sounds like a recipe for stalling at every opportunity.

 

Limit break being a rare is also interesting - I can imagine wanting it with a thick deck but picking something else if the deck was thin if it takes several turns to be usable.

No offense taken, mate.

 

To be honest, magic clothes would be kinda annoying. I just tried having some idea for some differentiation between the mods, but if you copy paste it from Claire, you won't hear any complaints from me. lol

 

On the topic of corrupt builds, I get that you don't want that to be the "normal build" and more of a punishment. Fair enough. I hope you can make a character where it IS the intended build.

Full disclosure: I play modded StS with over 40 mods at once. lol

 

Lastly, on the topic of the limit break, if you've played the Library of Ruina mod, you can gain emotional levels -> and get a powerful E.G.O. card. Maybe that can be implemented for the limit break? Just throwing out an idea.

My main idea was Cortana from Halo with intangible effects.

Maybe Aella the Huntress from Skyrim with a similar clothing mechanic to Clair, but loses all clothes if she transforms to werewolf form.

One question for possible future characters - did you have an idea how the lewd aspects of the characters may work?

 

Mostly wondering if you wanted that side of each modded character to be a unique mechanic, or if Claire's corruption system was something you'd reuse where it fit.

 

 

That being said, honestly the idea Claire might get an update is what I'm most curious about.  She's mechanically still a really fun character to come back to, and my STS has a lot of characters to chose from at this point. 

 

I think the only outstanding issue I have with keeping her permanently in the load order is that her potions do tend to show up when playing other characters.  I don't recall the "white" potion causing major issues on other characters, but for obvious reasons the clothing potion needs to be avoided at all costs.  That's my only current real "bug" report, otherwise just interested to see what  you may change/add.

Thank you Atmey for making two of the best NSFW characters in StS modding, I can't wait to see your next work. Personally, my fingers are crossed for Tifa, I could totally see her as a character with similar clothing mechanics to Claire, with more of a focus on physical attacks and maybe mechanics dealing with limit break, chi, or allies/party members.

 

I was gonna just write a quick suggestion but as I started typing I started getting more ideas, so here's just a few if you're looking for inspo:

 

Possible character unique mechanics:

 

- Allies: cards that represent fighting alongside other party members such as Cloud and Red XIII. Maybe they give effects that activate upon certain conditions (ie, deal damage when gaining block or increase strength when playing a power).

 

- Chi: A resource unique to Tifa similar to Vigor, but sticks around and can be spent with certain cards or certain cards have extra effects with enough chi stockpiled. Maybe gain chi from attacks or from certain cards? Could also have cards that exchange Chi for energy or card draw.

 

- Limit Break: A resource that builds based on damage taken, on max limit maybe spawn a card that deals a bunch of damage/deals damage based on cards played since last Limit Break/mega buffs/gives energy. Could also have cards that deal damage to self on purpose to increase limit break, or cards that increase limit break generated for damage. Could either be generated based off each instance of damage (easy to farm with enemy multiattacks) or generated based on amount of damage taken (so big hits will generate more limit break than weaker multi attacks).

 

Have cards that support singular, high cost, high powered attacks and cards that are weaker multi-hit attacks, or cards that spawn another card (like Alpha-Beta-Omega), or cards that have effects based on the last card played (like Sash Whip).

 

 

Anyway yeah thank you for the mod can't wait to see what you come up with next : )

Is there any way you can update this mod to stop the potions from it appearing in runs of other characters? They introduce statuses that aren't native to the character and more importantly the repair potion that repairs 2 items of clothing will add them to the character if it doesn't have them and then for the rest of the run you have to deal with the arousal/corruption mechanics.

Just discard the potion then? Personally I like being able to introduce corruption mechanics on any character using it.

Could you put things like the Arousal and Masochist limit in the config? I would like to be able to play on hard mode with no caps to the statuses
