Looking for help 'getting started' after a long hiatus

hi there, i am returning to the world of erotic/sex mods for Sims 3 after years of being away from it. while i'm sure that the erotic community is much more active in Sims 4, ive always preferred the gameplay of Sims 3 over 4. i recently got a new PC and bought Sims 3 and several DLC packs on Steam, so i'm looking to expand my Sims 'social activities' beyond woo-hooing under a moving sheet where you cant see anything lol. i would really appreciate a nudge in the right direction. thank you!!

Since you have already played 3 with mods the biggest hurdle is past. I guess you'd like someone to give you some definitive list but other than what you can already find here, everything else works as support for your personal needs.

Choice of 2 mods for sexual framework - and animations for both.

Decision whether to use the NRaas set of mods which give the players both god-like abilities and allows the player to rectify any issues with EA programming.

Everything else is icing. Do you want realistic feet, cars which can serve as sexual locations, 40 different skin textures, a wardrobe of clothing that would make Amazon cry? And so on and so forth.

Besides spending time looking through the download section, the Request and Find will also have 'links' and other singular 'uploaded code' never advertised /under the radar - which is also done to a minimal effect in the shared photo section (someone asks about a particular 'pkg' and it may be listed there).

So you will do well to spend some time scanning those sections for uploaded mods which fit your needs.

Then you will either figure it out on your own and/or become familiar to others as a regular content 'activist' sharing photos and making posts.

In the "Sims 3 - Downloads" board, there are two pinned mods that provide "animated woohoo", or in other words, they show what the default EA woohoo under the sheets hides.

Passion is lighter weight, but does not differentiate between the extremes of teasing and full on anal. When sims "woohoo" with animations from Passion, an animation showing only two sims cuddling on a bed will still count as having woohooed. The last updates for Passion also added some changes to Vampires, including making all non-evil Occult sims immediately hate any evil Vampire sim.

Kinky World is pretty resource intensive, and has a bunch of stuff in it that is not directly related to just woohoo. It also differentiates between several different "levels" of romantic activities, with Teasing, Handjob, Oral, Vaginal, and Anal categories. And the first three do not count as Woohoo, for terms of satisfying wants (or cheating, for that matter). KW also includes some stuff that people might find very offensive, including rape and bestiality, both of which are disabled by default settings. It also includes a rudimentary system for drugs.

Both have different methods of implementing a system to encourage sims to partake in woohoo activities, sort of an arousal level, that increases over time if not relieved.

Neither mod has been updated by the original creator in several years.

Both of those mods are able to use any of the animation packages that are available in the Download section, and the majority of the most popular ones are also pinned posts there.

Over the last year or so, a couple different modders have been creating updates for KW, mainly to fix bugs but more recently adding minor enhancements also. For that version of KW, see the un-pinned thread in the Downloads section: https://www.loverslab.com/topic/232234-oniki-kay’s-kinky-world-build-436-loverslab-edition-updated-28-november-2024/. Also look at the info, and particularly the links in the first post of https://www.loverslab.com/topic/215470-oniki-kay’s-kinky-world-build-426-loverslab-edition-updated-2024-05-14/, but you do not need to download the files from that post if you use the ones from the first post.
