Im confused about ZaZ(ZaP) versions. Please help friendly LoversLab denizens.

Hello! I am starting to love SexLab mod framework and from time to time im exploring options. I wanted to download a mod, which was very light and very easy requirements, except ZaZ. And i have problems understand what i must do to have ZaZ in my modlist, especially which version(-s) to choose.

 

I found these modpages:

At start i wanted to use version 9, since it seemed to be most recent, but then i read this message:

 

• Requirements
  Skyrim LE
• Special Edition Compatible
  No

 

And it turned out that year 2022<2023 and i suppose then versions 7, 8, 8+ are probably more recent then 9. So, since im not using Skyrim Legendary Edition, but instead Skyrim Special Edition 1.6.1179 latest GoG version, i decided not to use it.
I did try to download version 9 however, but its a pain.

 

<spoiler="My unsuccessful expirience with trying to download version 9">Its uploaded to mega.nz website, which allows to download 5GB at a time, this file was 10.3GB, so after i downloaded 5GB it gave me a message that i cannot keep downloading either i pay them and upgrade to premium account or wait 6 hours. So i waited 6 hours (which wasnt that easy) and then continiued. After next 5GB i wanted to click wait 5 more hours, but it gave me a message that my browser size limit has been reached or soemthing like that. I cleared some cache and temporary files, but it didnt help.

 

So i found option to download an app from the site which helps me in downloading. After 5GB have been downloaded, i clicked to wait and after 5GB more, it didnt give me any message, just stopped downloading for no reason. I could still see the progress, click pause or resume, but nothing affected the download. The download process itself froze without any obvious way to recover it.

 

Then I found more versions and now am looking at them 7, 8, 8+ It is my 3rd day without sucess and it still takes many hours every day trying to figure SexLab related stuff out:)</spoiler>

 

I learned on the internet what means UUNP, HDT & CBBE, because those are written as requirements at the possible versions to download.

 

In the earlier weeks i had installed:

HDT-SMP v2.11(it says its for 1.5.97, but we'll see if it works later i guess)

CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - CBPC - Fomod installer - MAIN FILE (which seems to be correct one, which i need for these kind of mods)

UNP Female Body Renewal 4.6 (It seems to work, when clothes are removed female bodies are naked and pretty nice looking, with smooth skin, but im not sure if i also need BHUNP (UUNP Next Generation) SSE, it sounds like this is the main file and Female Body Renewal is only an addition, you can correct me on that if im wrong.)

 

So if im thinking logically with these mod combinations i would need:

because it sais HDT and i have it

because it sais UUNP and i have "UNP Female Body Renewal", but im not sure, maybe BHUNP is the newer version of UUNP as the BHUNP author suggests and i need to install that.

 

but also the correct version might be:

because it sais HDT and i have it

because it sais CBBE and i have "CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - CBPC - Fomod installer - MAIN FILE"

Here it sais "MAIN FILE" and i cannot find any more MAIN file in CBBE then this one on Nexus Mods. But this mod doesnt say CBBE, but CBPC instead. So could this be wrong too?

 

If two versions are seperated, perhaps i need to choose "UNP Female Body Renewal" or "CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - CBPC - Fomod installer - MAIN FILE", but im not sure, they seem to work very well together for my personal current modlist.

 

Either way - I would like to try

ZAZ 8.0+ CBBE HDT 2023

and

ZAZ 8.0+ UUNP HDT 2023

and see which one work better.

 

But here i am confused about size of the files.

ZAZ 8.0+ CBBE HDT 2023 - 428.7 MB

ZAZ 8.0+ UUNP HDT 2023 - 530.7 MB

 

I dont understand how can 10.3GB from version 9 that i tried so hard to download and failed, be compressed in 400-500 mb in those files? Is there some kind of glitch? Are none of those versions real? Or version 9 is for some reason very overweight?

 

Can you guys suggest what version of ZAZ to download and install. And perhaps other comments on my understanding of those hellish(oblivionish) abbriviations - CBBE, HDT, UUNP, UNP(standalone?), CBPC, ZaZ and perhaps more that i dont know yet, that i might need to use ZaZ and mods that i want to install, which will take out furniture and textures from ZaZ.

Also, is there any way, that i can edit some formatting/spelling mistakes in my post? I only see options for - Moderation Actions(Hide) and Share.

ZAP 8 or 8+.  The one you linked for UUNP is probably the one you want.

ZAP 9 added really a lot of new files.  Unfortunately, much of that hasn't been picked up by other mod authors for obvious reasons.

When you've become an established member, "Edit" will be added to that menu.  It's not that long of a wait (a week or so?).  Oh, and welcome to LoversLab!  It's a great community.

UNP and CBBE are different meshes for the female body.

BHUNP is a variation of UNP.

CBBE 3BA is a variation of CBBE.

As a general rule it's a bad idea to try to mix and match female bodies.

Those body types listed all work with bodyslide so you can customize the appearance of your characters.

Right now HIMBO is the only male body I'm aware of that also works with bodyslide.

 

So between unp and cbbe it ends up being a matter of personal taste.

I like CBBE 3BA myself and it does seem to have more compatible mods available than UNP does.

 

So the different versions of ZAZ you're looking at are for the different body types. One works for the UNP type bodies, the other works for the CBBE type bodies.

I would use FSMP instead of the HDT. The fsmp is a newer version that runs a bit better and is fully compatible.

Thank you BattDaPsycho! I installed FSMP and i will try to use that instead of HDT-SMP. If you say that its fully compatible then i will download versions of mods that require HDT and use FSMP instead.

 

I Will also switch to CBBE, because i also see those CBBE more then UNP as requirements. But to switch from UNP to CBBE might be more complicated. But im sure i will manage, will have to check many files and requirements of my current modlist.

After about 8 hours of work and testing, i think i have finally managed to reinstall and reajust everything. ZaZ, Devious Devices/Equipped, HIMBO, FSMP and CBBE are working good enough. And the main mod - Prison Overhaul seemes to be working well enough too. But Prison Overhaul has a LOT of bugs. Even tho it does 80% of what it should and its an interesting expirience to test things out and like "feel" being blindfolded and on a leash from jail master, those 20% can still be annoying sometimes.

 

Thank you BattDaPsycho again, you helped me a lot. Before that i couldnt launch the game or there were only 40% of working things before:) So ill take it and polish details and some bugs in time.

In total i installed/reinstalled 47 mods today today:)^^
