nehaberlan Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) Hi, I was using the Creation Kit SE normally. Then, I tried to open it again. I got this error message: CreationKit.exe - Entry Point Not Found In the message, it says: The procedure entry point SteamInternal_FindOrCreateUserInterface could not be located in the dynamic link library D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\CreationKit.exe I checked the main folder, and CreationKit.exe is still in there. I couldn't understand what's the problem. If you can help me anyway, I'll appreciate. Edit: I use Unofficial Creation Kit Patch. I copied/paste the original Creation Kit SE files in the main folder. I extracted Scripts again. Then, I reinstalled Unofficial Creation Kit Patch again. It worked. Problem solved. I think, the original Creation Kit files and/or UCKP files have been corrupted some how. Copy/paste, overwrite by the original files, and reinstalling again solved the problem. Edited November 22, 2024 by nehaberlan
traison Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) The steam_api64.dll file was changed some time ago. Most likely what happened here was that you had an older version of that dll than what was required by the CreationKit.exe. I had a look at the dll from my clean (not downgraded) 1.5.97.0 and it does not export that function. When you reinstalled things you probably accidentaly updated something as well; or perhaps Steam updated something. Edited November 22, 2024 by traison 1

When you reinstalled things you probably accidentaly updated something as well; or perhaps Steam updated something. I use Creation Kit SE 1.5.73.0, Skyrim SE 1.5.97.0. As I understand, steam_api64.dll is a "Steam" file. I haven't updated anything. At least, I use the same version of my main programs. However, when I open Steam, it updates automatically each time. I have downgraded 1.5.97.0 version. You made me confuse again. You say "it does not export that function". What does it mean exactly? Does it mean that when Steam updates itself, doesn't touch/change the original steam_api64.dll that you use? If it is something like that, how did you make this kind of setting? Another question: If I still have the newest steam_api64.dll that might cause the problem, where can I get the older version of steam_api64.dll that is compatible with the CreationKit.exe that I've used? Cheers...

DLL files export functions to be used by the application that loads them. Think of it as an API, a list of public/accessible functions. While exporting functions is not a requirement for calling them, it would seem a bit silly in this case for Steam to do such a thing. 1 hour ago, nehaberlan said: Does it mean that when Steam updates itself, doesn't touch/change the original steam_api64.dll that you use? This file would most likely be bundled with game updates, not Steam updates. 1 hour ago, nehaberlan said: If it is something like that, how did you make this kind of setting? This is probably a language barrier thing, what setting are you talking about here? 1 hour ago, nehaberlan said: If I still have the newest steam_api64.dll that might cause the problem, where can I get the older version of steam_api64.dll that is compatible with the CreationKit.exe that I've used? The official option to that is by downloading an older depot from Steam. I'd recommend using SteamCMD, to avoid bricking your existing installs. The unofficial and arguably more future-proof option probably can't be mentioned on these forums. It involves contacting a man with a wooden leg and a hook for a hand who is wearing an eyepatch and a funny hat.
