Do all UNP based body replacers have animation deformations?

Just curious. I never noticed any deformations with CBBE when I used it.

Ā

I've switched to SevenBase recently. While I like the thickness, I've started to notice some deformations around the elbows. Is it because original UNP had this issue and no one has reweighted it when they modified it?

Ā

Does UNPB have deformations? What about UNPB Redux? I heard the author of it did a complete 180. So I'm not really wanting to support him as much and base my mods off of it.

Ā

I'm looking for a good body mod that doesn't have any deformations to base all my future mods off of. I've used CBBE primarily in the past, but I've been liking UNP bodies recently.

Ā

How good is Dream Girl? People say it doesn't have any deformations. Does anyone see this body replacer taking off and replacing UNP because it doesn't have any deformations? It looks a bit slim for me. It's almost like weight 100 should be weight 0.

Ā

What does everyone think? What's the best body with the best weighting?

Depending on the animations you may have, UNPB/UNPB redux bodies can have some degree of deformation problems, most noticeable around character's armpits, elbows and pelvis areas. But most of them shouldn't be too terrible, but if you got keen eyes on such details, you might find them annoying.

Ā

One thing that really makes the deformations stand out is pinup poser, lots of its poses in it will make the deformations atrociously clear, if you like to make lots of screenshots using pinup poser, and this matter bothers you greatly, you might want to try dreamgirl body, from what I have seen and heard, this issue practically doesn't exist (or very unnoticeable). But you shouldn't base your choice of bodies on the aspect alone, aesthetic appeal of the body itself, armor/animation support are equally important IMO.

Dream Girl is what I use, and since I follow all threads about it usually a lot of other people do as well. It's close to unp in shape but that's all it shares. It has less than half the polys and a lot less triangles and little to no deformations. It animates superbly and frankly I like the shape better.Ā  I'd say it will achieve close to the same popularity as the other replacements. That said, once Caliente releases armor studio I envision that taking over and dominating everything because of the ease of armor conversions.

Hmm. Well. I'm considering going back to CBBE, even though Dream Girl Seems nice, just because body slide is so easy and makes everyone happy. Both need new textures though. UNP is too 'meh', and CBBE too smooth.

Ā

I'm still not sure. Does anyone have any experience converting to CBBE Body Slide? Is it difficult?

Ā

EDIT: CBBE has the least deformation out of the animations I've tried, and Dream Girl is very close, definitely in the lead for UNP based bodies.

Ā

Though, cutting out half the polys sounds nice too. It's a hard decision.

Ā

Ā

EDIT (this didn't post for some reason): I'm not looking for armor support. I'm wanting to do that myself, I just didn't want to waste time weight painting a body to specific animations if I didn't have to. I might experiment fixing some problems with SevenBase tomorrow.

Ā

I tried Dream Girl and it seemed okay. It reminded me of regular UNP. I might go with that one if I can't get Sevenbase to work right.

UNP's mangled armpits make some poses off limits for screenshots unless you put the camera somewhere strategic or do some post-processing. And when you fire arrows the hips can look mad deformed too. I use 7B and it's inherited the same issues despite improving on UNP a lot overall imo.Ā

Ā

Dream Girl doesn't have any major deformation problems that I could find, and Lady Body is pretty clean too. They're both far too light for my tastes. I'm hoping one day we'll have something with 7B's wonderful thighs, shoulders and boobs but with DG quality meshes. I wish I that sort of talent but I never will.Ā

Ā

edit: I don't personally agree with you about unp textures though. I think it has by far the best texture support out there. I've never been able to make CBBE look half as realistic as UNP can, in any light and at any res. Maybe that's just me though.Ā

I'm exactly the same as above. I find UNPx or UNP-based bodies to be the best designed by far as long as you don't do too advanced poses - I think to describe my taste in body male or female it should be slightly fantastic but still sort of within realism and i find UNP to work great here as long as the weight is near 1.0. And I also find that textures seem to look best on this base. So yes if only that could be combined with more natural-bendy meshes...

Ā

CBBE always manages to look too plastic/doll-like somehow for me and bodies like ADEC is just too exaggerated for me, but it's of course up to personal taste.

Ā

I'm currently using UNPB but I've eyed Sevenbase more than once. :)

What's this armor studio? Sounds great.

Ā

Curious and curiouser...now I want to go research it

I've tried the Dream Girl body replacer and didn't really like it. It isn't for me. I have the upmost respect for Petrovich's and his work, as I am a big fan of his mods, but DG body wasn't his best creation imo. Regarding Caliente's armor studio.. what is it? I no longer keep informed with the progress of CBBE, unfortunately.

Ā

I wouldn't be as quick as to say it would dominate armor conversions. Some of us enjoy adapting clothes/armors to new bodies the old fashioned way. :)

Ā

On topic: I'm pretty sure every body has deformations when playing certain animations to some degree. I used UNP, UNPB, and now 7B bombshell and they all have some noticeable warping, stretching, and deformation around the elbows, knees, and hips. Doesn't bother me too much though. The armpits do have a major warping issue, but it's negligible really unless you use a lot of posing mods which have the arms raised above the head. The juicy legs on any of the 7B body variants outweighs any problems with deformation!

All those are variants of the same base body mod though, so I guess it stands to reason they've inherited some of the same flaws. I tried to like the DG body because it fixed all the niggles I've had with UNP but I just couldn't get past my dislike of it's shape. 7B is an oustanding body, it's just a pity it's armpits still look like road kill and it's hips like to go off on their holidays now and again lol.

That won't be a problem since you can use it to convert armors/clothes to different bodies. It's not limited to CBBE. Outfit Studio already includes support to UNP, UNPB and, obvously CBBE; so you can switch back and forth at will. Even converting to CB++ and UNP bodyslide it's really straightforward, so I expect bodyslide armors to become the standard from now on. This means that almost every body type will have some kind of support, or at least you will be able to do it yourself without passing through the painful process of learning to use Blender/3dsmax.

TBH I'm 100% surprised that no one hase attempted to adapt DG to a more 7B shape. The base shape of DG and UNP is actually very close. With the difference being a somewhat fuller buttocks, thighs, and calves. Oh and smaller knees to prevent arrows to the knee. Here are a few shots for comparison. Sorry for the different textures and separate image I was a bit lazy and I haven't re-installed photoshop yet.

if you just play the game and use decent armors, instead of running haf or naked around, and or spend ages to make some (poser)screenshot it don't matter what body you use thenĀ  :P

I see you can use Skyrim like that too! I had almost forgotten thank you for reminding me :P
