laurencius Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 sims 4 whicked whims error says I have duplicate files of it, but my file explorer does not find a single ww file.
Crashdown117 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Don't know if merged packages of CC are still a thing (used to come with custom Sims sometimes, containing all the CC used in creating them) but including the WW package file in the merge was a common mistake back when I downloaded custom Sims to populate my game. If you have any, try removing them from your Mods folder and remember to delete "localthumbcache.package" (found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4"). Other than that, I can't think of where a duplicate WW file might hide, so the only other option that comes to mind is to 50/50 through your entire Mods folder to identify any files that might be interfering with WW.
laurencius Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 (edited) I deleted all sim files in tray. I deleted the localthumbcache. I don't get the error message, but whicked whims will not show in game. What is the 50/50 thing? Thanks for your reply. 😃 Edited October 9, 2024 by laurencius
dschlaqinwe Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 if everything doesn't help rename you Folder in document / the Sims 4 to x start your game, and slowly put your folder back from sims x to the sims 4
dschlaqinwe Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I think soon Microsoft has messed something up. I'm sure I always put my mod folder on an extra SSD, when I write it back it doesn't overwrite everything that makes every file (copy). I'm shocked to see over 800 duplicates in the SIM4 mod manager4
dschlaqinwe Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I still have this since Win11 24H2, it doesn't ask if the file already exists, whether it should be overwritten, it simply copies it in as a (copy).
