brokelafemme Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Hi guys, I’ve been having an issue in which my sim is having sex and it’s a female the strap on it’s supposed to equip but when it’s equipped it shows a penis and the legs disappear. It’s until I unequipped it that it shows the legs again, I imagine it’s a mod that it’s interfering with the azmodan strap on mod. My question is: how can I know without deleting and re-downloading all the mods which is the one giving me issues? thanks xx
Crashdown117 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 First things first: You never to delete and re-download everything, you can just move stuff around on your computer. As soon as a mod file is no longer in your Mods folder but somewhere else (i.e. a folder on your desktop), the game couldn't care less about its existence. If you also delete the file "localthumbcache.package" (which is found in "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4") after moving your mod stuff somewhere else, the game won't even give you much trouble aside from telling you about missing items and such. Just don't save your game, unless you want all data related to your moved mod stuff to be removed from your save. Now, with these simple facts in mind, it's time to tackle the issue at hand. Firstly, while I agree with your intuition, I would suggest testing things with a minimal setup. That is, move all mods but WW, the strapons, some animations and (if you have it) MCCC out of your Mods folder. Then delete "localthumbcache", run the game and test if the strapons work fine (they should, but it's better to be safe than sorry). With that out of the way, finding the file(s) that interfere(s)with the strapons can be done in two ways: (1) If you're confident that you have an idea about which file(s) might cause your troubles (e.g. some WW-compatible body parts you recently downloaded), you can add those to your minimal setup and test again (remember to delete "localthumbcache"). If you see the issue again, it's now just a matter of narrowing down the exact culprit(s), which can be done by testing them one-by-one. (2) If you have no idea or your hunch was wrong, you need to test all of your other mod files. Since that can be quite a lot of files, I reccomend you familiarize yourself with the 50/50 method, if you don't already have. There's a neat little tutorial than can be found here (in the initial step, replace MCCC with the minimal setup as detailed above). Of course, you can also use 50/50 to narrow down the culprit(s) if any hucnh you followedturned out to be correct. A full 50/50 through all of your mods might seem a bit intimidating at first and could very well take some time (depending on how well-organized your Mods folder is), but in the end, you will know precisely which file(s) caused the issues with the strapons - and that's all you need to delete then (or tell the mod author(s) about it, so they can fix their files). Cheers
