Flemming Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Like the topic says, I've been attempting to makes changes to the CBBE 3BBB body with Bodyslide (I have CBPC Physics installed as well), but none of the changes I make are persisting into game. Everything is installed correctly as far as I know, I'm building the files to the correct place, but nothing is sticking. Not sure what else to add, if more info is needed let me know, because I'm at wits end with this.
traison Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 ...and what did you do to determine nothing is changing? Do you have a mod that makes your character unique in any way. Unique skin, unique body, unique eyeballs, ... Did you verify the body mesh was actually built and that it looks like you expected?

I went in game to verify nothing was changed. Unless I'm taking your meaning wrong. I'm meaning to apply the changes in bodyslide to NPCs, not my own character. As far as the questions, I have mods for unique eyes and hair, but only the eyes are being applied to NPCs (I think). Otherwise, there's no unique skins/bodies installed. I can share my load order if necessary. But yes, as far as I know, I followed all correct steps to build the body mesh and install it, but, yea, nothing.

I ask because one common mistake people do is they download a custom body like CBBE, build it, then wonder why their Iron Armor still has small tits. So if your way of verifying the body was built, was by checking the size of Lydia's butt while she's in Steel Armor then that's not the way to go about it.
libertyordeath Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 (edited) 1. Does it work on your char? If it works for your char, then obviously bodyslide is doing it's thing, so the topic title and description of the problem is entirely false. If it's only about NPCs, then this is not a bodyslide problem. It's something else in your modlist. 2. If it's both player and NPC: Load order? I mean mods, not plugins. If you use MO2, have you checked the conflicts tab for your generated output files? To see if nothing is overwriting them? 3. What traison last said: Are changes visible when naked? If yes, then you're missing bodyslide armor replacers for your bodytype. 4. You said you configured everything correctly for bodyslide output. I don't believe you. It's just like people saying "i tried everything". No you didn't. You just assume so. Edited October 5, 2024 by libertyordeath

It's just like people saying "i tried everything". No you didn't. You just assume so. My current character is male. I'm trying to change the way female NPCs look. I use NMM and have ordered everything through LOOT. I have naked NPCs in game (weirdly, the physics is applying properly, but the attempted changes to body shape aren't). Also, I didnt come here under false pretenses, I genuinely dunno why you're getting offended and angry at me. I'm sorry, I simply don't know what's wrong. I've used Bodyslide in past playthroughs, in the exact manner I'm using it now, and have had no issues.
traison Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) In that case I'd do the following: Start the game, and load a game or otherwise enter the game world. Open the in-game console. Click on a female NPC which should have a different body shape. inv Make a note of all items marked as worn. Close the game. Open xEdit, do not alter the plugin selection. Locate the ARMO records of the worn items you found earlier. Locate each associated ARMA record. Make a list of all meshes (nifs) assigned to these ARMA records. The female meshes are in the MOD3 field. Close xEdit. Open BodySlide. Select a project (outfit) that you think should build an amor piece that replaces one of the meshes you found earlier, i.e. if the sample NPC had Elven Armor, then pick a project that builds the Elven Armor. Note that there's multiple variants of some armors. Hit the build button and check the paths where it says the project was built to. Make sure these match one of the meshes you found previously while inspecting ARMA records. Edited October 6, 2024 by traison
Flemming Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 .... WELP. I'm an idiot. I fiddled with Bodyslide a bit more, and managed to find I had selected the wrong body in it. I had wondered why the preview was showing up all strange. Pay no attention to me, this is resolved. Thank you for the help and advice. 1
anjenthedog Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Wrong body, wrong preset for a given body, wrong pathing. (and not checking build morphs for "can't use RM on this thing" issues) the most common issues. (yes I realize you already solved, just suggesting for next time, check all three before "panicking")
