Pickpay Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 The discussion on the author's page has been suspended for a while now so I'm hoping its ok to post this here (hellosanta are you around ?). This texture is about the best I could find for CBBE (please suggest any good alternatives) but some ugly yellow marks mostly on shoulder and back remain and the overall skin is not smooth. I'm for realism to a certain point but this almost looks dirty. I checked official screenshots (too dark) and some of users but I can't tell if this is intended. I understand that the back has some shades to reflect the body shape but these colors look off imo. Could I have other files that interfere with this like a normal map ? (I understand it has an impact on texture looks!?) Same with ENB turned off. I've tried to tone it down to the maximum with all the settings I could play around with. Also my skin color is nearly white yet it remains quite colored. Any ideas ?
Pickpay Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Ok after looking in detail my texture folder, I found some extra files which must belong to another body mod that the SG one did not replace. Thanks to those that took a look. I'm still curious to know what the 1_msn, 1_s, and 1_sk files are for ?
Vioxsis Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 msn = model/object space normal map s = specular map sk = Specular Colour Map or Subsurface scattering map, could even be a Emissive Map.
Pickpay Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 Thanks but that doesn't tell me what they do, how they influence the texture looks ? Unfortunately the problem was not solved. I happened to delete one of the files of the SG texture and reverted back to CBBE...
winny257 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 in the "body textures" are incorporated shades that are intended. if you for example a mod, lightening or ENB are using now, which has influence on your textures! german in den "körper texturen" sind schattierungen eingearbeitet , die beabsichtigt sind . wenn du jetzt zum beispiel einen beleuchtungs mod oder ENB verwendest dann hat das einfluß auf deine texturen !
Vioxsis Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I just looked at the SG Textures in PS and the problems you have are not problems, that is how the diffuse looks. If you don't like it edit the diffuse or change to different textures. And for your education The normal map is used to fake high-res geometry onto a low-res mesh. Specular maps control how reflective the surface is, they are some times used to control how much environment maps will appear on a surface. And the sk is more than likely a emissive map, and is probably used to add a very slight amount of glow to parts of the body where blood is close to the surface. Specular Colour Map changes the colour the spec map reflects back, useful for surfaces that have more complex reflective properties like metals. Subsurface scattering map bonus; an environment map in skyrim is a cube map and a cube map is six images that are mapped onto a cube, creating a 360° panorama. This is used to fake reflecting on things like metal
Rayblue Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 @OP: by the way, what ENB preset you were using? Certain combinations of skin textures and ENB presets may affect in-game appearance. I use the texture pack and Project ENB or True Vision ENB but didn't see the blotches.
