Adding custom animations to idle markers

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I've made myself a little gentleman's club in the second floor of the Drunken huntsman.

Now I want to add some idle markers where I can have NPCs dance or do idles such as the ones Gunslicer makes, and the use some AI packages to get the girls

over to the markers.

I can't see any obvious way of doing this in CK since I can't access anything related to animation idles. Any clues?

Looking at Idle Markers, they seem to have a list of IDLE records. So what I'd attempt here is to just create a new marker and add a reference to the IDLE record from GSPoses. If the animation plays properly from the console with playidle, I don't see why it wouldn't work in a marker.

I don't know. Maybe? Thanks for the suggestion though.

I read a little here now:

https://www.loverslab.com/topic/229783-how-do-i-create-custom-idle-animations/

and here as well:

https://forums.nexusmods.com/topic/3744325-adding-custom-animations-to-vanilla-idle-markers/page/2/

And it made me think this ain't as straight forward as I thought. Anyway, I might as well do what they did in the mod kinky Inn at the nexus. Just connect those three vanilla Cicero dance idles to an idle marker and replace their HKX files in the folders to something more sexy

I actually got it working. I used Fore's guide and made my stripclub mod an FNIS-dependent mod, created behavior files and new animation events in the Creation Kit, and linked those to a custom idle marker. I'm surprised how well this turned out without issues. Huge kudos to Fore for his guides and Gunslicer for his animations. Also credit to Vader666 for the guide provided about "How to Add Custom Animations to Fallout 4" (because Fore's guide did not include the Creation Kit part): https://www.loverslab.com/topic/69722-adding-custom-animations-to-fallout-4/.
