Creature Framework not Appearing in MCM with JContainers Installed

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi there, I'm having some trouble with Creature Framework and JContainers. I'm not exactly sure what the incompatibility is but when JContainers is installed, Creature Framework doesn't appear in MCM, yet does appear when JContainers is removed. I installed Skyrim SE as normal through Steam, then downloaded the depots to downgrade it to version 1.5.97, I have the correct SKSE version installed, and I'm even using the correct JContainers version, "The last JC release before AE".

Any advice?

The answer is in the Papyrus log.

Solid advice actually, I didn't even consider that. Couldn't find anything specific in the log however, CreatureFramework just wasn't mentioned when JContainers was installed, but it was mentioned in the log (four times in fact) without JContainers installed. I did have an idea while I was testing though, I loaded the game without JContainers installed, waited for Creature Framework to initialise, then saved, closed the game, installed JContainers, and booted it back up, and there we are, both mods installed and working at the same time... I hope.

Take a shot for each time you read "JContainers" btw, it'll be fun, I swear.

I appreciate the response!

You might want to look at that mod list. If that is your left pane in MO2 then it would benefit from some rearranging.

I use Vortex, so that list is in alphabetical order "sort of", I copied it manually in alphabetical order, but I didn't want to type each of the mods with their accurate names, so I took some liberties to make the list appear cleaner. As for the order, I make use of LOOT to keep everything organised and I make use of plugin rules to ensure certain mods load after others, such as Vivid Weathers loading after Wet and Cold (these aren't in that mod list, these are just an example).

Fair enough but that's your mod list not the plug-in list so LOOT doesn't touch it.

You can get a load order text file from Vortex.

I know this has been 2 years but here is what fixed it for me

Here's a fix that I figured out:

First make sure that you have loaded a game with CF enabled and that you don't get the error "API refrence missing".

If CF just doesn't show up in MCM try this:

- Make a clean save of your current game (The one where CF is not working).

- Open this save in Fallrim Tool.

- Search / filter for "CreatureFramework".

- Open the "Plugins (ESP & ESM)" Folder

- Rightclick the "CreatureFramework.esm".

- Select "Delete plugin script instances" and confirm.

- Give it a fancy-ass name and save it.

- Reopen Skyrim and load your cleaned save.

"Creatureframework installed" should appear in the top left corner. (Wait a couple seconds for it to show up in MCM)

You are a god among mortals. Also had to run "setStage ski_configManagerInstance 1". Thanks so much.
