I've installed Bijin Warmaidens mod.But all the Housecarls and Aela appearance changes to grey color face with jut plain textures, even Aela's face tattoos are gone.No matter which mod i try to change appearance of House carls and Aela, this problem remians.rest of female characters like Mjoll,Uthgerd(whatever her name is) they change to Bijin Warmaiden .The problem is basically with Housecarls/Aela as their appearance just changes to a dull face.Even had the mod placed last in load order still same problem. The mods i'm using are:

CBBE Body

Amazing Followers Tweak

Bijin Warmaiden

Apachii Skyhair 1.5

NPC Overhaul by Drax8. (I installed Bijin Warmaiden after installing NPC overhaul)

Can anyone help me how to remove this grey face thing and get the textures of Bijin Warmaiden or anyother mod for Houscecarls/Aela to work

no offense, as it looks like a texture problem.
since it would be helpful to upload a few pictures, it would also be good to communicate which are used textures?

nichts für ungut , so wie es aussieht ist es ein textur problem .
da wäre es hilfreich ein paar bilder hochzuladen , es wäre auch gut mitzuteilen welche texturen verwendet werden ?

1. Gray face is an old Skyrims bug (or glitch). You fix it by selecting NPC inside Construction Kit and pressing Ctrl+F5. This creates files inside data\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\<mod name> folder and data\meshes\ ... <same as for textures> ...  One file for face texture, one for head mesh.

For vanila NPCs that <mode name> would be skyrim.esm (so folder would bedata\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\skyrim.esm). Name of the file that is created, is NPC 'id'.

When you installed your mod with NPC, did you also got file in data\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\skyrim.esm folder (and data\meshes\...) ? If not, thats your problem.

2. Skyrim likes to store stuff inside save file. Sometimes you have to start a new game.

Okay I had this two seperate times.  Solve them both.   First one was not even a housecarl but Uthgerd or something...  (in Whiterun)   Turns out I had copied some body files over to her "directory" that comes with Warmaidens.   This trick worked wonderfully with the Jessica mod (Jessica Alba)     In fact, I threw in a skeleton rig for her's and she jiggles when she's topless (gasp)

However, when I tried to improve her body...  some reason the "astrid body   or the afflicted body  got in there and messed up the head.    Deleting them worked.  (from that directory)

But...   seems you have the SAME problem I have had recently.  I was able to fix it.    Here is where to go into first

 Meshes

 Actor

 Character

In this dir you will see several places to visit.  You are going to CLEAN those out except for certain files.

First thing I did...  was clean out  "animations female"     literaly dumped them all.

Second thing...   character assets.   EXCEPT the "tri" files and any directories in there.   Just the "Bethesda art files"   This is what can get "hammered" so to speak by constantly tweaking this with installing over... etc.

To top it off..  I went and even dumped out the  character assets female  dir below it.   Just three files were in there.  skeletons.

When I reloaded my game I expected it to crash.  But LO AND BEHOLD.   there is my wonderful Warmaidens back again with their long hair.   Both Iona and Lydia looking bad to the bone

I suspect it was either a "head mesh"  or a combination of several incompatible meshes...  or perhaps I had too many meshes...  or maybe ... an animation was to blame?     Maybe Skyrim had to load once WITHOUT the meshes to reset itself.

I'm not sure.   I DO NOT THINK it was a saved game.   Because I tried to load a saved game with those warmaidens from a week ago..   SAME problem.   and the problem wasn't there back then.   Only when I went and tried to install some more body meshes to tweak the bodies.

I am now going to try Bodychange mod...   and explore it a bit more.

Beware of changing head meshes...   I suspect that is where things went crazy.

I say that because ONLY the heads on those housecarls were messed up.   It included the hair and eyes also... the very texture of the skin was grey looking... but that seemed to be from the fact that the texture itself was crunched up to fit a smaller head?    So one would think it was a texture problem when I know now ...  it was a mesh!

 Hope this helps
