I think people need to think a little better here. Is there an engine that can render wide open spaces and as well allow modding to be done? I can probably think of ONE engine which is the RED Engine for the Witcher. So it isn't impossible but the problem then comes as everything needs to be redone such as tools and as well as learning the damn engine from scratch. 

 

Why go for something that will increase costs rather than just use what you know?

Because Bethesda has the money to do it.

Because Bethesda makes great games that suffer on the byro engine.

 

I mean if Bethesda gave us the Creation Kit to be able to render the game any way we like, and more than likely will always continue, I don't see why not improve this aspect. But it involves more than just modding. But this has been a constant complain all over the net over this specific engine. There would have to be a complete new type of Creation Kit, which I'm willing to settle with. As long as the damn thing works for everyone. FNV GECK doesn't like to work all that well on my end. It seems like a hit for the most and a miss for the few out there like me. And with Fallout 3's GECK, I rarely have any CTD. My concern is just stability in general. These last two Fallouts require tweaking just to have a decent stability. I've finally gone through some gameplays on Fallout 3 without 1 single corrupted save. And I have almost 400 hours of game play on it. It's not actually from the gameplay, I don't know if I just hit luck or not as I haven't actually tweaked anything anymore than I already have to make FO3 as stable as possible. It's been like this for some time now.
