baobao43 Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Not just lewd mods but mods in general. For example even Gamebanana doesn't have switch version of a lot of mods but by doing some readin I was able to convert many to work on switch. The problem is the conversion process is different for different games so any site that has information on how to convert mods for switch or has more lewd mods for switch would be greatly aprreciated. Thanks.
belegost Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 Ask Nintendo to change their policy and you'll have mods. 5
baobao43 Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 Sorry? I do not understand what you mean. What is Nintendo's policy that impacts mods and how would I ask them to change it?
Miauzi Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Vor 6 Minuten sagte baobao43: Entschuldigung? Ich verstehe nicht, was du meinst. Welche Richtlinien gelten bei Nintendo für Mods und wie würde ich sie bitten, diese zu ändern? So that the "chat-gpt" AI understands it -> Mods are changes to a finished product to which the manufacturer -> has the COPYRIGHT And I don't know that "Nintendo" allows changes to its products
baobao43 Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 (edited) That seems crazy. I understand they could ban you for violating their terms by modding a game or console but I don't understand how it would actually be illegal to mod a game you paid for and own. Do you mean to say that we don't have the legal right to mod our own games? Or just that Nintendo bans people who do. Because i don't understand how Nintendo could "not allow" changes to games we own so long as we don't use their servers. Edited August 27, 2024 by baobao43
Miauzi Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Vor 3 Stunden sagte baobao43: Das scheint verrückt. Your childish "mine is mine and yours will soon be mine too" is completely out of place here... welcome to the world of adults. And in this world you don't own any software - not even a computer game... the customer (i.e. you and I and everyone else) acquires a -> RIGHT OF USE The most important identifying feature is that you do not own any software -> no source code (yes - there is software - the source code is included... see the operating system for Linux... but how else are "mental children" supposed to understand legal matters) And the owner (i.e. Nintendo) tells the users of their products what they can do with them. It doesn't matter whether you can or want to understand that... the legislature and the institutions that have to enforce the applicable law don't care about that -> "not a bit"! And Nintendo is pretty rigorous... so just keep acting "stupid" here 1

You pay for a licence to play a game (terms and conditions apply). That licence can be revoked and nintendon't is notorous for hunting down and removing any third-party content containing or even loosely based on any IP they own, even if it's a genuine fan-created tribute. EA and its shady practices seem like a friendly, benign pat on the back in comparison. Welcome to the world of corporate, my sweet summer child. Edited August 27, 2024 by belegost 3

It's not just you who is affected. If a console maker has a policy against lewd mods, it can have the hosting site remove them. Even if as an individual you can do whatever you like, sites like this one have to abide by the company's policies. 1

There are entire lewd games that exist for Nintendo platforms, and they happily sell them IN JAPAN. Japan has some... interesting laws about the export of pornographic material, and Nintendo takes the strictest possible interpretation of those laws. The whole "family-friendly" image is merely a side benefit. Nintendo's interpretation seems to be "if it can be considered adult in nature, it can only exist within the borders of Japan; no other nations are allowed to have lewd materials on our devices or in our games".

What games are you talking about? Are they like LoveR Kiss and DOA Xtreme Scarlet? I mean, if you look at Moero Crystal H and Nintendo's past self-censorship with Xenoblade Chronicles X chest slider and Fire Emblem Fates' Camilla, a non-zero part of is still all to do with cultural differences, but this time less a particularity of Japan and more on a specific Western dominant commonality - how Western social attitudes differ with Japan's specifically. There just isn't a sufficient market outside Japan what with Western decency laws + public perspective of sexuality, not to mention the controversy (which Nintendo wants to avoid; they clearly see litigious infamy as a more than sufficient compromise over any risk potentially associated with fan/community content, SJW backlash etc.) Edited August 28, 2024 by Nuascura
You can go one step further... you should take a look at the cosplay scene in Japan. Quite a few characters portrayed publicly at cosplay events clearly come from sex or erotic games... and they are ultimately portrayed by young people... who, even according to Japanese law, are not even allowed to know the content of these games. I read a manga about this topic just 2-3 weeks ago -> "More than a doll" (there is also an anime about it now) The first costume that "Gojo" cuts comes from a sex game - which he plays on a console... in order to make a "blueprint" for the costume - which he wants to make for his classmate So why modify games... when there are enough sex games on the market??

I am sorry if my question was stupid but I don't know much about this stuff and the reason I asked is because I wanted to understand. i am not trying to aruge with anyone or cause problems. I just wanted to understand more about how this works. I don't think being so disrespectful to someone you never even met is prodcuctive or understand why you would take the time to do so.
