Tompa987 Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Hello, I wasn't sure where to post this but I hope someone might be able to help me or point me in the right direction. I'm using TAWOBA from SunJeong and whenever I hover my mouse over any piece of the "Nordic Carved" set, my game crashes. The facts: - I have reinstalled the mod and rebuilt everything in BodySlide. 3BA and such works fine for other modded armors. The rest of TAWOBA works too, I've used most of them in my current playthrough without any issues. - Adding pieces of the Nordic Carved bikini with the console doesn't crash the game, but as soon as I hover over a piece in my inventory (or in the crafting menu) it's instant CTD. - The pieces can be built and viewed in BodySlide. - I'm not using SoS or Sexlab. - The SKSE error log seems to point to this armor set (?). I wish I could understand the crash log better. I've attached it here as well. I am unsure how to "check" mods in SSEEdit, but I've seen it mentioned a lot. What would I look for? I don't use any crazy script-heavy mods, it's mostly eye candy and fixes. The game runs fine and hardly ever crashes, even with many mods. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day. crash-2024-07-31-22-36-47.log
traison Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 This is a null pointer crash. It tried to dereference RAX which was 0x0. There's something wrong in textures\0halofarm\cubemaps\paladindark_e.dds. You can try running it through a dds optimizer, converting it to tga and back to dds or something along these lines. If its from a separate mod, remove it.
Tompa987 Posted August 1, 2024 Author Posted August 1, 2024 (edited) Wow, that was fast. Thanks a bunch for your help, I really appreciate you going through the trouble of helping a noob like me. Now I need to try and find out what that cubemap thing is ... the only things from Halofarm I use are some very old pose mods that I've used for more than 10 years. But it's definately a start, so thanks! *Edit: nvm that, sorry! I found the file, it's a .dds-file in the TAWOBA mod. Edited August 1, 2024 by Tompa987
Tompa987 Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 (... 3 months later) I managed to solve this. I doubt anyone else is ever gonna have the same problem but what I did was find the file mentioned (the .dds-file) and manually copy this file from the source mod (TAWOBA) into the corresponding folder in MO2. It seems as if the file was somehow broken or something. Now my game doesn't crash while hovering over the TAWOBA Nordic Carved armor anymore. Yay me, but more importantly, yay traison! I would NEVER have found this without your help. Thanks a million! I'll leave this here in case it may be of help to someone/anyone. 1
Raphi3L Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 Extremely fat necro, but the proper fix is to not have halo's poser's broken dds file overwrite tawoba's non broken one.

I'd argue the proper fix would be to find out what's wrong with the dds file and fix it; but everything is a cost-benefit calculation.

I would've done that but it was 6AM and I could not be assed to perform a fix that might have worked, vs one that I know works.
