forpyor Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) When loading a game (or starting a new one) it's as if a dice is rolled for a certain set of mods, and whether they load or not is up to chance. Most of the time, they'll still show up in my MCM, but they're either non functional or the MCM doesn't load. The mods this happen to most often is Sexlab, Devious Devices and SL Survival. I've tried everything I can think of (making/setting up patches, manually sorting my load order, going through every mod to make sure they're compatible etc.), but I can't figure out what is going wrong here. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how to go about fixing this? I'd really appreciate it. Load order is attached to this post, not all mods on it are enabled. loadorder.txt Edited July 13, 2024 by forpyor
anjenthedog Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) Make sure not to examine too many MCMs. There seems to be some sort of "buffer" limit to how much it can cope with in one shot. (afaik final storage of changed variables altered while in MCM mode, is only finalized upon exit of the MCM structure... could be wrong but that's how it feels to me. If I change a bunch of settings in a "thick" MCM, I usually make sure to exit to game before opening the MCM interface again to work on settings for something else, because otherwise, I end up with symptoms like yours Also, make sure to allow the game to fully complete the load process following loading a savefile, since it's still loading information for a minute or so after you first are able to see the world and move around. Opening menus prior to that process completing will often result in missing MCMs (since they haven't finished loading their content) Oh, and for SLAL, if that's one you happen to be having issues with, once you open the initial SLAL interface, you'll probably want to wait for somewhere between 10-30 second to allow the list of contained animation sequences in each labeled pack to load/populate into the interface. (time it takes depends on how many packs you've installed. the more, the longer) Edited July 13, 2024 by anjenthedog 1
traison Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Stdio limit, get Engine Fixes SSE to increase it. 1
kamithemoon Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 My guess is script overload. At game start, all your mods are loaded all at once and if you have too many that are initializing scripts, it can cause some of them to fail to load fully. I believe old advice used to be to immediately open up the console to pause the game and allow for the current set of mods to fully initialize, then unpause and do it again. But there might be better methods nowadays. 1
