Troubleshooting

 

  1. Make sure to have the newest of all versions, delete previous mods and re-download.

Mod-Conflicts / Incompatabilities

Most Mod-Conflicts are not "deadly", they will just hurt some of the features.

 

  1. Should not be used with the original RJW_Animal_Gene_Inheritance anymore.
  2. There was an issue with other "Male-Only / Female-Only" Mods --- for which we provide our own Genes now.
  3. CAI5000 will not crash, but will make Seduce-Ability fail. I think same goes for Combat Extended.
  4. Alpha Genes "Female / Male Only" Genes might overwrite later Genitalia-Changes and should be avoided in combination with RJW-Genes features.
  5. rjw.sexperience.cumgenes removes fertilin-gain from Cum item - I hope I addressed this by adding a load order but keep me posted (Issue #41)
  6. Orgasmic Mytosis will Duplicate Integrated Implants, leading to wealth-issues (Issue #107)
  7. Animal Logic will make `mating call` not work. (Issue #102)

I tried to play with 1.5v, but when creating a new game, most of the factions didnt load, meaning, a empty planet, double checked with 1.4v and there was running fine, can u get a quick look? I would be very appreciative.

Dunno why, but this mod's breaking the Dev Tools menu when installed on 1.5. Gives the following error when I click Open Debug Menu, or any other button on the Dev mode bar:

Yeah same here, can definitley point fingers at the Genes mod, since when its removed everything else works fine, dont understand why it would brick the debug console if a things but oh well

I seem to be having conflicts with Vanilla Genes Expanded.  I like the genetic options it provides, but this mod seems to have problems finding SexFluidSefs while using them both in tandem.  Anyone know how to fix this?  Example of the errors I'm getting below:

For those who still stumble on error in Dev mode: Error is issued on Vegapnk's git.

 

Quick fix: install Vegapnk Cumpilation mod from same github

Worked for me nicely, but it may cause errors that i havent noticed yet. or may not. Either way it fixed and gave more mechanics to use, so thats a win win

Ok that does seem to fix the dev mode error. However when playing with these two mods together it does seem to break world generation; only spawning a few factions and only one settlement per faction. however I think the two could be safe to add after you've started the game

I don't have that problem really. Check load order or other mods. Also (as always) check Debug Log, it almost always have all the info about errors.

 

UPD. Alright, I take it back. This bug appeared out of nowhere and caused by mod creating "rjw.HediffComp_SexPart.partFluidFactor" (because there is none existing neither in Cumpilation, RJW Genes or RJW itself)

 

I'm not sure how but mine spawn one AG Xenos and Base-game settlement who has references in RJW Genes Patches alongside with Nil Slimes (only one, despite turning all on) and HAR setlement that are not referenced there whatsoever. In the same time it dont spawn nor VRE pigskins or VRE neanderthals (who spawn in that Base-game settlement). 

 

Okay, I lied there, pigs do spawn BUT they dont show up in faction list. Can't even atack them, because their xenotype seem broken now. trying to spawn one spawns Baseliner, changing xenotype via debug dont add RJW Genes (works with neanderthal and almost anything else).

 

In patches it seem that every not spawned race have "GeneFluidAmount" genes (thank you very much, kileos). They don't spawn in game at all even via "Add Gene" command (it returns "Exception filling window for LudeonTK.Dialog_DebugOptionListLister: System.MissingFieldException: Field 'rjw.HediffComp_SexPart.partFluidFactor' not found."). So better to delete genes from RJW Genes/1.5/Defs/GeneDefs/GeneDefs_Fluids.xml 

Doesn't seem to affect work of any mods

UPD and problem fix

I found a solution to the factions not spawning but it requires some code changes, go to RJW Genes Main, 1.5, Patches, Xenotypes, open all files, search for 'fluid', find a line that says fluid, delete anything between <li> and </li>. Repeat until none remain.

 

Edit: Don't do this, worked once and then never again. Do the thing above by 4Starch.

Can confirm, this does in fact work. Now we just need someone to fix the download file so nobody else has to suffer.

This solution only worked once for me, now it never generates any other factions. Very unfortunate, I hope the mod author is aware of this issue and swiftly amends it,

So you can generate the world without the mods in; thus making factions spawn as normal. Then add the mods afterwards. Sure it means you can't generate pawns with the genes at the start but you can add them on later in one way or another

I narrowed down this mod (from my +300) also breaks the Debug UI. I thought that maybe was Hugslib with RJW latest update (Despite not needing it anymore), or UI not Included. This mod breaks it.

I also realized that no faction would be generated with "Spawn RJW Genes" mod.

Worked for me nicely, but it may cause errors that i havent noticed yet. or may not. Either way it fixed and gave more mechanics to use, so thats a win win

This mod "Cumpilation" doesn't work, I really wish the latest version of RJW genes was not dependent on it, as it doesn't work, and breaks my mods.
