acidboot3r Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 My copy of Skyrim randomly start displaying noisey textures during gameplay. I've tried uninstalling my HD texture packs but that didn't fix the issue. I've also ran BOSS to see if there were any conflicts but none came up. I've attached screenshots below. I also have an ENB installed, but I've tried various ENBs and I still have the weird noisey texture. My specs are as follows: AMD A8-6600K APU 3.90 Ghz Radeon HD 8570D 8GB RAM
FwuffyMouse Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 how long do you play before textures mess up? if you play for a long time before it starts to glitch, it could be a heat issue with your gfx card the problem with putting a strong card into a laptop is that they don't deal with heat very well. i should say I've had the same problem, mine shuts itself off when it gets too hot, right before which skyrim's textures bug out. also check that the drivers are up to date, and that the game is using your preferred gfx card if you also have an integrated one. did this happen before you started using ENB? if so, it may be that the root of the problem. i don't think i would be, but i haven't used enb for more than ten minutes before.
myuhinny Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 It could be that something messed up your SkyrimPrefs.ini I would try removing the ENB files making a copy of the SkyrimPrefs.ini and put it somewhere then delete the original. Then start skyrim the normal way not with skse so that it forces the game to make a new SkyrimPrefs.ini and it will also reset screen size and everything else back to the way it was once it has finished loading everything you should be good to go and hopefully the problem is fixed.
eifrag Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 iBlurDeferredShadowMask= this line in skyrimprefs.ini mines set to 3.
acidboot3r Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Thanks for your replies guys. eifrag's solution has solved my problem. Setting the value to 3 or higher depending on the ENB has removed the weird shadow grain.
