Areyon3339 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 (edited) edit: people are replying to this again after 8 months, I'd like to make clear that I am no longer having this issue In the same manner that is happening in this post: all female NPCs start to glitch out and float away after participating in a sex scene. I've only seen it happen outside once but it has occurred after every sex scene indoors. Everything was working fine on my last playthrough, now I have just started a new one and my only difference with regards to sexlab mods is that I added Defeat. I will try starting a new game without Defeat to see if the issue persists. If that's not what's causing it I have no idea what to do. I ran FNIS with no errors, I have the latest version of XPMSSE installed, everything checked out on the SexLab installation in-game. Edited February 15, 2025 by Areyon3339
ShivasBane Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I have that same issue. It happens rarely and afaik only in interiors. I'm going to do some further testing to see if it's tied to specific interiors. It may be tied to the physics though because the only other issue I have is that females boobs will start jumping around. This is also rare and normally only happens to one npc and only one boob.
Areyon3339 Posted June 3, 2024 Author Posted June 3, 2024 So I've gone about disabling every mod that I had installed before starting this new playthrough. I went one-by-one reenabling them and testing with a new game every time and haven't had a single NPC glitch like this. The only mod I haven't tried reenabling is SSE Engine Fixes, so maybe that's the culprit. Or maybe it was just a fluke.
anjenthedog Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 (edited) As I recall, floating NPCs is often associated with too low a value in the max spawn count (or similar some register that exceeded its assign max value). Also as I recall, there was a fix/patch that addressed it, but it also may just be a simple ini setting, can't quite remember, although I vaguely recall addressing it in my game along the way (when I first started playing, floating NPCs, and the player too when using the map from horseback for instance, were a curse that almost caused me to stop playing). see https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/dwxfgo/the_ai_limit_issue_compendium_aka_floating_npcs/ Edited June 4, 2024 by anjenthedog

The conclusion was that they hadn't really found any fixes.
traison Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 Same issue as here. While there may not be a solution in that thread either, there's at least a workaround and something that alleviated the problem.
Tlam99 Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 An reason not mentioned, script lag. Too many high res textures can have an impact (undress SL scenes), too many AI packages for crowded area and similar things. Skeleton, yes, as lots of npc creators copy an outdated skeleton for their (mostly not needed) custom races. Check with this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/24124 look for spikes on scenes. More than 80mS can be an issue.
danna233 Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 There can be many reasons, high load on the game mainly. And unlocking fps. Up to 100 fps the game plays fine, if higher with a heavy list of mods glitches begin.

I've also cleaned my mod list and removed some SL animation mods to see if that helps too.
TheRightDoorIsNotTheLeft Posted February 15, 2025 Posted February 15, 2025 I tested it out and didn't see any script lags, even with group sex. Before starting my next new game, I did jettison most of my SL animation mods, including the bondage and DD animations. I only kept the two mods that I can't live without. Next time I tried sex animations with the same people, they no longer flew into the sky. I'm wondering if in my case, it was some of the SL animation mods that caused the problem. I'm running AE on the latest version, so I'm wondering if some of the SL animation mods have problems with AE. Even though the SE compatibility page shows them as safe to use, they aren't quite safe to use. It's only a theory. But for now I haven't encountered flying NPCs during or after sex.

GertjieErtjie Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) I'm pretty sure I can reproduce the issue. Short answer is the fix: "Remove Outfit" for the character that 'drifts off' - like Arthur Dent missing the ground. Have SexLab sexy-time-scene with the character that now hopefully 'used to drift off'. NOTE - Only equip Default clothes! (or birthday suit). No new outfit yet! (Unless default outfit has SMP/HDT physics?? More testing...) Issue did not occur? Good. Make new fresh Save. Quit to Desktop. Load fresh Save. When you create a new outfit for the character in question; if the outfit uses physics (HDT, SMP - whatever), make sure that at least one item using the physics remains equipped. The physics item needs to remain equipped during the WHOLE strip process of SexLab and whatever else for the physics to remain in tact. TLDR; Currently, if you go from SMP outfit on a character to absolutely no SMP gear at all on a character, one of the re-adjustments that happen AFTER the character has stripped (or partially stripped) for the SexLab scene causes the 'drift off'. - THAT'S when you get the issue. It seems that there is a moment when the character is re-adjusted for the scene where the physics drops away and cannot recover. Hope this helps? Let me know... Edited May 7 by GertjieErtjie
