Greetings forum

thought I'd post this here as there isn't really anywhere else it would fit. ^^ In any case, recently found this little blog, and well browsing through all the post that regard performance on machines and what you guys are aiming at building, I thought that this might help those of you out who are considering in building or upgrading your existing PC.

If you are looking at going hybrid with physics and graphics for your machine then this will help you get there.

And if you have more money then sense (j/k) you could go for the "Reactor X Total Submersion" Desktop. (only Intel and Nvidia cpu/gpu available).

And I spent just £900 on my PC... (roughly $1600)

i7 2600 (3.4 not overclocked)

16GB DDR3 (1600)

1kW PSU

2TB 7200 rpm

160GB SSD

Nvidia 570 gtx

DVD burner

win 7 Prof x64

Pretty much comparable to the linked default, and less than half the price. :D although that was before the price change on HDDs, so probably not going to be anything near that cheap now... shame really.

Saying that, I put it together myself, so saved more by not getting someone else to do it. :P
