Lydia & Friends replacer

Lydia & Friends

Vanilla followers replacer

Will use your bodies but their own textures. (Any CBBE, 3BA, TBD, Compatible)

Also added perks to each, Serana can now summon a gargoyle, and they can level very high now rather than 50.

Body weights have also been adjusted.

I will add more followers and tweaks in the future.

New Game Strongly Recommended.

Currently replaces;
Lydia   -   Favors Shields and swords,  Weight 100

Iona    -   Two handed swords, Weight 90

Rayya  -   Dual wielder of swords, Weight 80

Jordis  -   1h or 2h swords, Weight 100

Serana -  Gargoyle summons, Weight 100

More to come.

For those interested, the body used in the screen shots is my "Milkshakes" preset.

You can find it here;

Trouble shooting

Anything that alters their look after this mod, even if it just changes their eye color will give you the dark face bug. As this is an esm, esps will try to load changes after this mod. This is common with all replacers.

Example: Improved eyes of skyrim has an option to change Serana's eyes. Simply leave these options blank.

You can also move this ESM (master file) to the bottom of other master files in the plugins to avoid conflicts.

Thanks.   Got rid of 4 ESPs thanks to this mod, and the NPCs look great to boot.   Nice work.

Your welcome. I'll replace more as time goes on. Enjoy!

Is this compatible with Serana Dialogue Addon?

Yes, I've tested it with the Dialogue addons and they work just fine.👍

I want to use this with Koz's npc replacer which also has Serana. How would I get around the blackface and make this one have more prio?

I know how that could work but i only used it for pandorable, and the author said it wouldnt cause conflicts on the mod so keep in mind it might not work for the mod you are using it on.

1 - backup both mods in case you mess something up

2 - open the mod which you dont want to use the npc replacer in ssedit EX: in your case you would open the buxom npc replacers mod

3 - find Serana on the character list and remove her from it

4 - delete the Serana facegen textures and meshes (this is easyer in Mod Organizer 2 since every mod has its separate folder)

EX: in pandorable I would go to Pandorable's NPCs\Meshes\Actors\Character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom for the meshes

and in  Pandorable's NPCs\textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\Skyrim.esm for the textures

to find the character textures for serana you should look for her BaseID on the Skyrim wiki because thats what the files are named after, also she could be on a Dawnguard folder on the FaceTint folder rather than a Skyrim.esm.

once you have removed her entry on the mod + those 2 files it should start working without the dark face.

Thanks for more sexy additions (i cant keep your creation pace on my install side :p)

Litterally, my "2 cents" on this :
Cent 1 : i dont see the need of an ESM here, after checking with SSE Edit, this totally would work in an ESP with an ESL Flag and usual FF records, like other classic replacers.
That would save one slot, solve any wonder about a new game or not (just my use but i never install or remove anything new in a PT, except on BOTTOM of load order, for various reasons). That would solve also any user question about overides and the (not a bug) thing if this mod is placed at bottom of LO.
Just a suggestion, i wonder why you made it an ESM, might have missed something ?

Cent 2 : Just personnal taste here. The Housecarl NPCs still have all the infamous "opposite gender anims" flag on. (so just not your Serana)
Its getting rare to see any replacer with this flag not removed. So i'm wondering if its intentionnal or not.
It matters only for new games and will persist in save no matter a new version or replacer is installed after...
My own personnal use (some people might like it the other way) : i checked every single replacer and women NPCs before starting a new PT, and removed all those flags...

Heya thanks for the heads up on the opposite gender animations, honestly my bad. I totally forgot/overlooked that. 🫢
I will fix that ASAP.

I also left it as an ESM for my convenience as I will be adding more to this mod. I did try converting it to an ESL but it failed to do so. -I'm still tinkering on this.

You can easily convert a plugin to an ESP (extension) but ESL (flagged) behaviour with SSE Edit.
You just have to select a record from your plugin (let say Serana, your version)  in the record list on the left (in SSE Edit) > RIght clic > Copy as OVERIDE INTO > New File > Select ESP extension with ESL Flag as a format > Save
- Note that if your Serana Record has been already edited and have some new references (body / Hair / Headparts whatever) the new file will add your original ESP as master (and could not be opened without it so) since your NPC record have references you created in your original plugin, thats not what you want.
- You'd better start from a vanilla record of Serana (or whatever NPC) to do this process, so your new ESP / ESL flagged plugin will only have vanilla Core masters.
- Or, if you know how, you can also put all those references to NULL (aka deleted them), copy the original ones from your first plugin as NEW RECORD in youyr new plugin (not overide this time), then copy / paster those new records in your NPC record (fill up the NULL refs with the copied refs)

Then you can either work from this saved ESP/Esl in the CK (if its your work process),  or do like me, do everything faster, copy stuff and link all references needed etc, all in SSE Edit :)

Interesting 🤔
I'll give this a try. Of course, when I have more coffee.

Hi there, firstly thank you for your work and i use a number of your mods and they are great. Would it be possible for you to make a stand alone version of the Serana replacer using these presets. I think the face is really nice and would love to use it but with having minimal modding experience apart from sticking them into my game. I'm using your Yuriana replacer at the moment and would love to do the same thing with Serana. If you could do this i would most grateful, if not then i would understand. Thanks in advance

Yes, I 've been thinking of doing a standalone version for Serana with some different options. Probably after I'm done revamping my major mods.

Hey there! I want to ask this question here because I might as well, as it is somewhat related to the mod.

As of writing this message I've only recently got back to my favorite game after a rather long absence and am basically playing Special Edition or rather the Anniversary Edition fresh from GOG, finally decided to give it a try to see how it compares to those old muddy and charming graphics in Oldrim.

What I am noticing is that there are far, FAR less standalone follower/replacers mods in SE/AE than in Oldrim! Adding a bunch of .nif files on a separate folder for the body of ones custom follower doesn't seem like the hardest thing ever IMO.

Why this change all the sudden?

For the replacer I decided to set things up so they used the players body but separate textures. I guess my reason being that I myself am always switching between a more serious play through then changing to a more fantasy one if you will (with busty ladies). It was also so to save time for people who wanted to change bodies to something they liked and not bloat their drives with separate meshes of armors and such.

That being said, my three major mods; Maidens of Darkness, Star Shadow Coven, and Lilith Maidens will stay with Standalone bodies though. I am quite happy with the Milkshakes 3 body and will set those mods to this body.

I hope this is satisfactory answer for ya, currently I need more coffee for my low batteries lol. ;)

Hi i just saw your reply to the last comment will be replace chars similar to this mod. there was a load issue when i get pumkin face because it was loading this mod and your mod at the same time.

Yeah, it won't play nice with other replacers as both mods are trying to read and load the followers. So when it comes to Bijin replacers it's one or the other at the moment.

that answers my question as well
would be nice to have some kind of way to make it compatible since that one changes more npcs
