chivaleroncross
Hello thanks for your time, and hear my complain xDAnyway I just download this mod :http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/36364/?tab=4&navtag=%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D36364%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D283476&pUp=1 and as you can see it's Templar things, but the problem is, this mod keep Crashing when nearby the location. However I read the discussion that mention this : Yes the fast way to fix it is to install only the mods data to C:\Programfiles\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data. The long way is to change all the texture paths in Nifscope and remove the c:\program files\bethesda softworks\oblivion path. I just dont get it, I dont know anything about doing it in nifscope, or path textures or anything. So I've PMed the Creator but no reply (figres, this mod quite old) Anyway that's my question, thanks Link to comment
Guest ThatOne
The problem is the mod author used static texture pathing, rather than relative pathing. This means it will only work if you install the texture in the folder he specified OR change the texture pathes in nifskope. I'm afraid I'm really short on time right now, but I'll edit this post in a bit to explain how to fix it. Sorry about that. -Promised edit- Welp, seems I'm late to the party. Yes, like Fejeena explained you should change the texture paths. The alternative would be to place the texture files in the folders the man specified, which isn't a good idea at all. There could be a lot of objects, which means it might take a while to change all the pathes. There was something on the nexus which could mass-change texture pathes, but it's rather complicated to use. It's called Texture Replacer, if you want to look for it. Link to comment
chivaleroncross
It's alright, I really appreciate for your time at least explaining it easier But I'll wait for your further notice. Thanks ^^ *EditWait, you mean this mod only works if I install Oblivion in original install path? Like at drive C and program, bla bla bla...Coz I install my game in Drive D and other specific folders. Link to comment
fejeena
Seems a big mod ( more then 160MB) many meshes/nif s to change. Textues pathes in NifScope must start with "textures" like "textures\architecture\chorrol\WoodPost01.dds" Not "C:\Programfiles\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\textures\architecture\chorrol\WoodPost01.dds" You must change all nifs with NifSkope, all texture pathes. Double-click all textures pathes and delete "C:\Programfiles\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data" in front of the word "textures" You can change it in the Block List or Block Details window. A lot of work. ( I check every mod meshes before I install a new Mod, there are so many modders who do it wrong! ) Edit: Who installs games in C? C = Windows and nothing more !!! Link to comment
chivaleroncross
See that's what I'm going to say, who install the game in C? So I just need to change the textures path only? Thanks Fajeena, I'll start this work tomorrow (Its already late and I must go to work tomorrow ) Link to comment
movomo
There are few tricks in doing this kind of things. Use Tes4Files. Extract the mod using it, don't forget to check the "fixnif" option. Then you'll see every texture path in .nif files have been fixed. PyFFIying nifs will also fix texture paths to relative form. Though I don't expect that you want to install Python and Nifscript library right now. Link to comment

fejeena
Seems to be a very "dirty" Mod. A guy created a Folder "C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks" and installed the meshes and textures of the mod, so he was able to run the mod without renaming all meshes. The mod is from 2011 and still not fixed ! Edit: Missing textures are purple in game. Black ? could be missing normal map. Edit2: Open the mesh in NifSkope, click on the "wrong" armor part and see what textures path it has. Then look in the textures Folders if a texture with the right Name is inside and if there is also the normal map ( Name.dds and Name_n.dds) Link to comment
