Skyrim Settings Menu Issues

I have an issue where Skyrim lets me access the settings menu, allows me to alter the settings, but when I leave the menu and return to it, some settings are reverted. EG when I adjust difficulty to legendary, it reverts to novice. The survival mode toggle also does not work. Does anyone know what could cause this? I currently suspect that it has something to do with skyui/ nordic UI.

Latest updates changed a few UI elements and SkyUI can't account for said changes (it hasn't been updated). You can use a patch to fix your UI. Like this one, with different files depending on which UI mods you use on top of SkyUI. Install into your mod manager as any other mod and allow it to overwrite your other mods.
