Did that happen with the latest version 1.0.2 that I uploaded a couple hours ago? It should be fixed in that version (at least it worked here on my end). You should be able to update the main mod mid-game btw.

Sorry, I had downloaded .19 it at 4am and didn't realize it was updated later. Loaded save before it and worked as it was supposed to.

thanks

Oddly enough, I can now reproduce this bug in my game, though I still don't know what could be causing it.

I have however noticed that it's not only my mod's dialogue that gets blocked but also any comments that other mods add globally to all NPCs (such as SLSurvival's comments). Something must be blocking all dialogue for the leader adventurer NPC (and this one only).

EDIT: I may have found the reason. Seems like I accidentally enabled the "Exclusive" flag for two of the adventurers' dialogue branches, which disables all other dialogue for them once the original conditions are no longer valid (in this case the active quest stage).

ah you are the best, thank you for looking further into it!

Hi, enjoying the mod so far. Seems well written with only a few typos, I love the introspective pop up windows. The initial starting scenario with the adventurers was being interrupted by two wolves that spawned nearby, so I had to kill them using tfc 1 before talking to the Adventurer Leader, otherwise the conversation got cut off and the adventurers would run off to chase the wolves.

Quest spoiler:

Also, I got the timer-locked blindfold but didn't get paid for it. Is this intended as the NPC scamming the player or is it a bug?

All right, new version is up which should address the bugs that have been reported. I have successfully played the whole quest again. Please do let me know if you run into any other bugs or issues.

I could not replicate the skooma bug that @GTAVC16 reported. Both types of skooma allow the quest to progress in my test runs. I have also tested this with CACO and SkoomaWhore active in my profile, though neither of which are installed in my CK-only copy of the game.

The bug was that the player doesn't get bound in the normal armbinder.

The tight one was applied as expected.

Overall, a great RP start for a non-dragonborn non-special character that just happens to come to Skyrim while also organically introducing DD usage

  Reveal hidden contents

Bugs:

  Reveal hidden contents
  • Unable to trade-in firewood for empty bottles. After he told to me to come back later with the firewood, I only got default dialogue and no option to exchange anything
  • After talking to brynlojf and getting 'speak to your escort', no dialogue is present in any of the adventurers

Gameplay:

  Reveal hidden contents
  • I was genuinely missing some kind of vibrator or/and chastity belt 'integration' there - either when you take a break and get unlocked ( but get put a vibrator and chastity belt as movivation to come back ) or -ideally- to have the vibrator/belt combo go along with the beggar dress ( optionally? )
  • I know that you said the mod story is finished, but there could be some kind of a break-in quest before you get sent off to Whiterun? It could be a practical moral test before going away from Riften and you could introduce another mini quest before the actual break-in - to get lockpicks?

Things I liked:

  Reveal hidden contents
  • I really, really liked how the whole atmosphere and quests were -consistently- grounded.
  • It didn't feel as if DD was being forced on at any point, although sometimes I kind of wish it was more pushed, like for example when asking to take a break and wanting out of the dress, like I mentioned in gameplay
  • It was a struggle to even get the first one hundred septims or to scrounge up enough money to buy honey... going back to the atmosphere of the mod, it was a nice break from the 'heroics' in a compelling way
  • I played without any DD helper mods, and I personally spent about three days trying to get out of the damned armbinder Sapphire put me in for that double-distilled skooma, while I was continuing in the mod quests. For me, this was a fun scenario which happened naturally :)

PS: Can't wait to see more of Ebonitium :)

When did you get to the part with Sapphire and the Skooma? did i miss something 😮

Possibly. ;)  The (base game) NPCs in Riften can offer different paths to completing the earlier "fetch quest" missions. I tried to adjust their reactions/offers to their character backgrounds.

Thanks for the clarification. Though even now I still can't replicate this as I got the normal armbinder equipped in my test before the latest upload. Anyway, I'll take another look.

hey, i can't seem to get the option to show up in Skyrim Unbound Reborn, even with the updated file posted here in the topic. i'm on 1.6.640.

Edit: i just got it to show up, not sure if this is what fixed it but i had campfire installed, which conflicts with papyrus and sexlab. i put campfire in between Paprus and SexLab in overwrite order and the option started showing up.

I also had the same issue. The normal armbinder did get equipped, but the bound animation did not get applied, so my character just walked normally with invisible hands. I am using Devious Devices Beta10 RC1, if that helps.

Thanks for maintaining an unvoiced version of the mod, by the way! Not a huge fan of xVASynth.

Thanks for testing this! I'm guessing this might be an LE/SE thing then. I've just discovered that Unbound Reborn SE requires PapyrusUtil SE for the custom add-ons to work, so perhaps there some differences between LE/SE PapyrusUtil at the root of this. Just a guess.

Good to hear that the mod itself seems to be working in LE so far.

It's just you can't use hexadecimal (0x5902) forms in the .json for the LE version. They have to be converted to decimal for them to work.

I'm on LE and fixed this myself. The attached file simply changed the forms to decimal to make the .json work with LE. I was able to select the "Robbed in the Rift" option in SUR and everything worked fine.

Nice little alternate start mod, when I create certain characters I usually have them start in the wilderness with nothing to simulate a "attacked and left for dead" scenario. This mod now fulfills that and adds more to the starting scenario.

And I really appreciate you used SUR over LAL, Most mod authors just use LAL which is a shame since SUR is fairly configurable and has options to effectively turn off the main questline.

Oh! Thanks much for the additional and very helpful info. I think I saw that issue too in one of my test runs but attributed it to a random fluke. I'll check if I didn't do something bad with the DD equip call at this point in the mod. There's likely a gremlin lurking there somewhere, especially considering that the other DD equips all seem to fire correctly.

Ah, so that's what's causing the issue in LE. Thanks much for letting us know and especially for so kindly providing the fix!

I totally agree on the advantages of Unbound. The non-dragonborn setup has become really solid over the years and a great option even for long playthroughs up to high levels. And that's only such a small part of the many options available. Another really cool option is to delay becoming the Dragonborn by setting the starting point of dragon spawns to a higher level, by which point my char is already a battle-hardened hero who mighth actually be able to take on a dragon. I mean, why would the Gods bestow that honor and responsibility to some random doofus who just happened to be in Helgen at that particular point in time. :D

I do not think you understand what sickos the gods are.

God 1: Alduin is coming back, so it is best we gather up the hero, train him and provide him with the weapons he needs to save the world.

God 2: No wait here, what is the fun in that. I say, lets just dump him in front of Alduin without anything and see what happens.

God 3: Now you are talking, and for god measure let us have him bound and about to be executed by the only none racist military power. That should make him angry enough to do it himself without any help from an army.

God 2: Oh yeah, now we are cooking!

God 1: Makes a facepalm and just leaves, while thinking "Maybe I should join the deadric princes instead, they are probably more sane then this.... "

They are Aedra or Deadra, neither sanity or common sense by mortal standards is a requirement.

Hmm, is the start of this quest supposed to end up with a totally black screen with just your hud visible? If not then something is going on with my install, I tried various starts with skyrim unbound, no issues there they all do the start as they are supposed, and I can see all that I should, as soon as I either use the unbound addon for this mod or run the StartQuest AR_DeviousAltStart command, then I end up with just a hud visible, the npc is there but well doing anything is kinda not happening, as even getting to riften is not going to happen.
