B_86 Posted April 21, 2024 Posted April 21, 2024 Hi, enjoying the mod so far. Seems well written with only a few typos, I love the introspective pop up windows. The initial starting scenario with the adventurers was being interrupted by two wolves that spawned nearby, so I had to kill them using tfc 1 before talking to the Adventurer Leader, otherwise the conversation got cut off and the adventurers would run off to chase the wolves. Quest spoiler: Spoiler Also, I got the timer-locked blindfold but didn't get paid for it. Is this intended as the NPC scamming the player or is it a bug?

Both types of skooma allow the quest to progress in my test runs. The bug was that the player doesn't get bound in the normal armbinder. The tight one was applied as expected.

The (base game) NPCs in Riften can offer different paths to completing the earlier "fetch quest" missions. The normal armbinder did get equipped, but the bound animation did not get applied, so my character just walked normally with invisible hands. I am using Devious Devices Beta10 RC1, if that helps. Thanks for maintaining an unvoiced version of the mod, by the way! Not a huge fan of xVASynth.

I was able to select the "Robbed in the Rift" option in SUR and everything worked fine. Nice little alternate start mod, when I create certain characters I usually have them start in the wilderness with nothing to simulate a "attacked and left for dead" scenario. This mod now fulfills that and adds more to the starting scenario. And I really appreciate you used SUR over LAL, Most mod authors just use LAL which is a shame since SUR is fairly configurable and has options to effectively turn off the main questline. Thanks much for the additional and very helpful info. I think I saw that issue too in one of my test runs but attributed it to a random fluke. I'll check if I didn't do something bad with the DD equip call at this point in the mod. Thanks much for letting us know and especially for so kindly providing the fix! I totally agree on the advantages of Unbound. The non-dragonborn setup has become really solid over the years and a great option even for long playthroughs up to high levels. And that's only such a small part of the many options available. Another really cool option is to delay becoming the Dragonborn by setting the starting point of dragon spawns to a higher level, by which point my char is already a battle-hardened hero who mighth actually be able to take on a dragon. I mean, why would the Gods bestow that honor and responsibility to some random doofus who just happened to be in Helgen at that particular point in time. 1

I do not think you understand what sickos the gods are. God 1: Alduin is coming back, so it is best we gather up the hero, train him and provide him with the weapons he needs to save the world. " They are Aedra or Deadra, neither sanity or common sense by mortal standards is a requirement.

If not then something is going on with my install, I tried various starts with skyrim unbound, no issues there they all do the start as they are supposed, and I can see all that I should, as soon as I either use the unbound addon for this mod or run the StartQuest AR_DeviousAltStart command, then I end up with just a hud visible, the npc is there but well doing anything is kinda not happening, as even getting to riften is not going to happen.

Miauzi Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) The mod made me curious and after a break of over a year I actually played Skyrim again for a few hours - I had prepared a new character for testing purposes. He was level 1 and had already left the starting cell via "LAL" ... so I took him to the raid location with the console command. From then on everything went pretty well - since the character is a succubus (CoL mod) - I got past the city guard without any problems - but first I secured the bribe from the "leader" for the gate guard. This meant that the first task of begging for 100 coins was completed quite quickly. I collected half of the potion ingredients - and got half via cheat ... if I ever play it "for real" (i.e. without cheating), the honey (in the pot) will be a real problem! Oh man - the shop owner really doesn't have it easy with the thieves' guild... 500 coins a week is quite a lot *ggg* Now I'm in the brewery in Whiterun... and I'm stuck at the point where I'm supposed to "get" the ledger. Even at night - everyone is asleep - I can't find anything - neither a key nor a book. If I follow the "path" from the vanilla quest, the mead tasting should be on the agenda - along with the vermin incident. As it's already quite late at night - in real life, that is - I've finished here for now... the only idea now would be to go to the tavern in Whiterun (I have the letter from "Brynjolf") Edit: This afternoon I continued playing the mod - I had an "inspiration" during the night... I had read something about "stairs" and "underneath" - and sure enough - there was the book. This way I was able to solve the quest... I kept the catsuit etc. on, of course... we all know where the keys are. Conclusion: Very nice starter mod - the quests fit well into the existing places/locations - very nice work! Two points of criticism or comments: a) Please also equip optional shoes for the feet - the "classic" slave heels would go well with the hobble dress ... the latex socks are a bit of a shame for the catsuit for the mission in the brewery - since you also have to go down field paths to the farms, in my opinion the boots would be better (but that's "complaining at a high level") b) For a starting quest, the loss of initial items is much more serious - quite a few mods equip the player with things at the start of the game - which cannot be obtained again through normal means ... here a handover of these items at the end of the quest chain by the "leader of the adventure" would be a possible solution Otherwise - thank you very much for your work ❤️ Edited June 9, 2024 by Miauzi

Perhaps it's because of another mod that I'm using but I can fairly often find it in some vendor spawn lists. Maybe I can add a couple pots of honey to the game world in a semi-hidden place during this part of the quest as a workaround. I even have the functionality for that already implemented in my other mod (removed items get placed in a container for later access). I can implement that in this mod easily -- for now I've added a warning to the mod page. I guess this potential issue didn't occur to me because Unbound only ever equips generic base game items at the start and losing those is of no consequence. 2
