Brelyna Maryon follower quest issue

So simple problem that I hope has a simple fix. For some reason or another the quest line to recruit Brelyna Maryon is broken. At the stage where she first asks for you help and then you let her cast her spell on you that you then have to wait for the effects to wear off, well, on my game the effects never wear off. After the equivalent of months later and still having the effects wear off, I have pretty much given up hope that it will fix itself. Does anyone know the console command to advance her quest either to right after this stage or to simply advance her quest line to completion?

Have you tried just removing the spell effect to see if that triggers the continuation of the quest?  Something like "dispelallspells" (in console, click on player then type in "dispelallspells" (without quotes, of course), and see if maybe that will kickstart it.  This looks like it will dispel all buffs/debuffs/etc so make sure you have a save you can go back to if it putzes up.  There should be another console command to remove the specific effect, just couldn't find it.  Again, this may not work, but should be easy to try...  This is the link that I found the command on ( http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyrim )
