Skyrim does not open

Hi guys, I've been trying to find the problem for a week, but I guess I'm not that good. Skyrim kind of upated himself (thanks Steam -_- ) so when I tried to open it, everything was broken. I deleted all the mods I had since I wanted to do a clean up and I've been putting news one and I can't open the game.

What happens is that I get the Bethesda logo and everything crash. I'm not really good with mods not Vortex so I've been trying to get the crash log. I'm not even sure if I looked at the correct so this is where I need help. I'm on vortex and where to I find that crashing log?

Also, I could have found it so here, well I hope it's the right one.

Thanks for the help! :)

Did you start from a totally clean game this time? If you use Vortex I think you need to purge or something to completely remove all modded files from your game. You obviously need to update SKSE to match your new game version. After that you can add mods. Of course you could've go for a way less aggressive method and disable mods in groups or check if there are any errors or messages after different attempts to start the game. Only mods with a DLL are version specific so any other mod should work the same.

As for preventing Steam updates either google how to set the appmanifest of the game to read-only or set your Updates setting to only update the game when you launch it, then only launch the game with Steam already open and using the SKSE loader instead of the default executable.

Yes, I unistalled everything, opened the game without any mods with no problems. I checked again SKSE and it's the right one for the skyrim that I have.

Ja, ich habe alles deinstalliert und das Spiel ohne Mods ohne Probleme geöffnet. Ich habe SKSE noch einmal überprüft und es ist das richtige für den Skyrim, den ich habe.

After installing the game without mods (i.e. "vanilla") you test it for the first time - start a new game and play until you get out of the cave again.

The second test takes place immediately afterwards... after installing the script extender... it is therefore the first start of the game via the skse system

Only now do you start installing and testing mods... always step by step - especially if you have very little experience in fixing errors - you should actually test after every mod installation.

Yes - it takes time - but that's how it is with "learning" 😉

That's a somewhat common crash, caused by one of the following:

  1. Missing master plugin.
  2. Missing BEES, though that's not it in your case because of your game version.
  3. Engine Fixes SSE force-enabling achievements. Since you do not have this installed (you should), it kinda only leaves one option.

It was it, thank you very much! ❤️
