Do you have the correct skeletons installed for your custom race? A lot of texture mods?

 

Are you running ENBoost and/or Pre-cache-killer?

When I first installed Skyrim, it always crashed on selecting one of the main races, this was before I had even installed any mods, so to see a CTD is not uncommon.

You could also try uninstalling and then re-installing your custom race as it might of had something overwritten by something that you added to the game. I have had it happen before but removing it then installing it back on fixed it.

Also ya RaceCompatibility  might be a old one, grab the latest one here.
