After updating just player character is completely wrong skin tone

Hi, I hadn't played for about a year then decided to update all the errors on my modlist, the issue is now after updating my character is completely the wrong skintone, except for head, hands, feet, and dick.

IFF at some point you created a Racemenu preset for this character, try opening Racemenu and reapplying the preset. If it doesn't stick the first time, apply it again a few times until it does  (before exiting Racemenu!).

 

And if it doesn't stick after a few tries, check the preset's .jslot file itself, for a missing entry under the hash for "skin overrides". That entry, if it exists in a Racemenu preset, dictates a default body that's used for fallback situations, and if missing will result in a mis-colored body texture.

 

Otherwise, check your /textures/actors/character/male folder, show as large icons, and see if the texture has been overwritten with the gray body seen in your snapshot. 

 

If that shows that it was overwritten (ie replaced "physically", rather than being overridden by another mod later in the load order), you can use drag drop replacement for the missing texture, if you have the associated texture stored elsewhere (or from the source file)

 

Otherwise, I'd think you have some other mod overwriting it. Which one? idk.

No, I stupidly didn't set a preset, but the weird color is this no matter how I change the character or race, which makes me think it might be some weird mod overlay

Either an overlay with a missing texture, or a missing texture on the body itself (as in, missing d, sk, s, or msn texture).

 

So other than what anjenthedog already said about overlays, make sur the overlays (if any) actually exist and open the body in NifSkope, inspect the texture list and make sure they all exist as well.

I don't think its a body issue, because I just tried creating a new character and there's no issue

Do you have any body-morphing (ex: CBBE muscles sliders) or body-visual effect mods (ex: wet function)?

 

If so, since the error isn't exhibiting when you generate a new character,  one of them might be misbehaving

 

Oh, and also check your "body paints" in Racemenu, just for good measure. I've had a couple instances of body and face paints screwing up inexplicably, and leaving an entry set to the wrong skin tone or losing all associated layer info (aside from the linkage to a texture file). That is, all of the paint layer's sliders are set to zero, although the layer exists and adjusting its sliders reveals its intended content.

Thank you!  There was some kind of body paint that was mostly but not entirely transparent in most of the slots for some reason
