Why does Fallout New Vegas start, play the intro noise, and then immediately crash. Can someone please help?

Sorry rather than playing the into sound I meant it shows one frame of the loading in screen after you launch it through the launcher.

look for a missing master file for a mod you have , or a missing asset file
