Swyke Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I have a small but realy annoying problem with the GECK (with PowerUp). Recently I've installed it on my Win8-Laptop, too. Most things seems work as they shoud ... ... but in every window (quest-topic, ai-package ...) whith condition-entrys the condition-tabs/columns are close together on the left side. So I can't read or edit anything. Sure I can drag them to the right position, and they stay at their place as long as I do not close this window. But I have to do this in every condition window again. And if I close the window, and reopen it, the tabs are all back on the left side again. So it is impossible to work on topics/dialoges or anything else with conditions, whithout geting mad. As I have this issue only on the win8-pc and not on the win-xp-machine, I've tryed to start geck in win-xp-compatibility-mode, but that doesn't change anything. I have googled the issue but did not find a resolution, maybe YOU have it?
jaam Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Only with PU ? I know the GECK tends to diminish all windows everytime it redraws them, but I don't think it was PU related.
Swyke Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Oh! Don't think, that it is a PU issue. Just for completeness I wanted to mention, that I use GECK with PU. In my experience GECK likes to ignore all things that are changed while using it at least at the next start. So maybe it is a problem with a geck ini or setup file?
Guest luthienanarion Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 That's a common issue with using the GECK in Windows 8. I first noticed it back when the Developer Preview was released and haven't found a solution for it. I just extend all of the condition fields whenever I need to see or edit them.
Swyke Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Well, I bump up this anciend topic. Right now I have had started geck on my windows 8 computer ... just to check something. And I was very surprised that suddenly all the condition-columns where NOT gathering together at the left side anymore. NO! They are back where they belong! I never changed/reinstalled geck, pu or something else (why should I? it was no fun to mod with this issue). Maybe windows has changed something by itsself, because I have updated to 8.1. So we can use geck on Win 8 computers. Hooray!
