Guest Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 (edited) Which of these four badass video game protagonists will you trust with your life while the other three try to kill you? The super soldier who's faced armies of aliens? The man who literally walked through Hell and back? The engineer who fought hordes of zombie aliens? Or the half-demon who fights hordes of demons for a living? Choose wisely! Edited February 11, 2024 by Guest
Darkpig Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Doomguy for sure. If you aren't on his side you are just an ammo pickup. Master Chief may be a super soldier but can he haul around 14 weapons and go through literal hell and survive? I doubt it. As for Isaac Clarke I never played the Dead Space games but isn't he just some miner trying to survive space zombies? I don't know what Dante's deal is so I won't comment on him.

Isaac Clarke is an engineer who, along with his team, went to assist the Ishimura after the ship sent out a call for help. That was when it was discovered that the crew was being turned into Necromorphs. Throughout the first game, Isaac and his team try to uncover what happened to the staff of the Ishimura while attempting to escape. I know that may not sound like much compared to a super soldier or a couple of guys who kill demons as a pass time, but Isaac isn't to be underestimated. He's achieved some gnarly stuff, like fighting a moon-sized Necromorph and winning. As for Dante, he's a half-demon, half-human with insane abilities and weapons. If you want an idea of what he can do, Dante once stopped a punch from a demon as big as a building with little effort. So, yeah. Doomguy would have his work cut out for him.
porkybork Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 To me, this is really a contest between Dante and Doomguy. Isaac Clarke is a badass, but the necromorphs are nothing compared to the flood from Halo, and Isaac is ultimately just a regular dude. Master Chief is a super soldier and an amazing strategist, but Doomguy and Dante are just fucking busted. Doomguy spent millions of years in Hell killing demons and then got a boost from the Maykrs after curb stomping everyone in the arenas. Plus, dude's got a sweet ass set of power armor and a huge arsenal of weapons including a chainsaw, a sword infused with argent energy, the BFG, and his bare fucking hands. This mother fucker takes out demons that are way bigger than he is on a regular basis and then goes to sleep in his coffin until someone wakes him up again. That said, I gotta give it to Dante. Like Doomguy, he's got a huge arsenal and he regularly kills massive demons. Thing is, Dante can pull off some pretty crazy shit because of some of his styles. He can stop time with Quicksilver, warp and double jump with Trickster, and defend against basically any attack with Royal Guard and use the gathered energy to plow through his enemies like they're nothing. Seriously, Royal Guard is one of the most OP things ever. Dante also has one of the best healing factors ever since he can recover from catastrophic injuries within seconds and keep going like nothing happened. This isn't even mentioning all the shit he can pull off when he goes into Sin Devil Trigger. He can teleport, blast you with lasers, burn you with hellfire, and summon black holes that explode. Also, he can beat you up with a motorcycle, so yeah. 1
beefers Posted February 23, 2024 Posted February 23, 2024 Isaac Clark for sure. He's an engineer so he's very smart and he was able to adapt and survive on a ship filled with 1000 alien monsters trying to kill him. The other guys are just run-of-the-mill grunts and video game protags doing boring shit. Issac has been thrown in unfamiliar scenarios with no combat training, no weapons and nothing other than his wits and ability to improvise and survived where 99.9% of everyone else was killed.

It's about time someone chose Isaac. I was beginning to think that I included him for nothing. Compared to the others, it's easy to underestimate Isaac's skills. However, seeing how he survived on the Ishimura with no super-human abilities, no idea what he was walking into, and everything and its mother was trying to kill him (not to mention everything in the next two games), I'd say that makes him one hell of a badass.
