Skyrim SE Voices settings keep getting disabled by itself.

Hello,

 

Since some times now, when I load my save, reloading it after dying or starting a new game, my voice settings keeps setting itself to 0 after a few second in the game. When I reset it manually it stay still until a reload the save.
 

I tried setting my SkyrimPref.ini to read only but it doesn't work.

 

I'm on SkyrimSE 1.6.640

First question, what mod manager do you use? If MO2, then it is very likely that the ini files are not located in the standard documents folder.

 

You changed the SkyrimPref.ini mode to read-only, thereby preventing the game from saving settings changes. Are you sure that in the ini file itself the sounds were not saved at the minimum settings?

I'm using Nexus Mod Manager (yes yes I know it's not the best and I should switch to MO2 ...)

The SkyrimPref.ini wasn't on read only when it started. I tried with read only, without read only, nothing seems to change in game.

Then at the moment I have almost no ideas for fixing it. I can only suggest that you check the [AudioMenu] section here and compare it with yours.

 

Although for some reason this option seems unlikely, but you can also check the save files themselves. The error could have affected them directly. But I don't know if Save Cleaner can handle this.

I tried to replace my settings with yours. It worked at the beginning but when I changed cell it reset the voice to 0 ...

I didn't try to clean the save I'll do it later.

Seems like whether or not the settings changes are written to the ini file was never checked here, so that leaves Papyrus as a potential candidate. Search through all pex files in all mods (remember that they can reside within bsa archives as well) for the following functions:

• SetINIFloat
• SetINIInt

A tool like Notepad++ can do this easily.

It was SL Survival that changes the voices settings. I didn't saw this option at first glance !
