flutie Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 (edited) What does it mean when esp's are crossed out, plug in panel, in MO2? Mods work, just curious Edited January 16, 2024 by flutie

kkiiees Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 does these dummy plugins counted for the MO2's 255 plugins limit?

Got a simple (read: small) example of such a plugin? I seem to have inadvertently gotten rid of all mine and would hate to have to search my download archive for one to test with. If not then: Take note of plugins before and after this dummy plugin. Find an npc, item or spell from both of these sample mods. Note down their editor ids. Open the game. While in the main menu, open the console. Use the help command to get the mod indexes from the mods before and after. If the mod indexes here are one apart, you know the mod between the samples got assigned an index - i.e. the dummy plugin counts towards the limit. And the reason why I didn't say "does MO2 assign a mod index to that plugin? if yes then it does count towards the limit" is that as far as I can recall the mod index counter in MO2 has never been reliable. Most of the time it can't even figure out esm files (and yes I mean actual esm flagged files, I'm aware of this "discrepancy"). Edited June 21, 2024 by traison

MCM Helper.esp uses up a plugin slot.

Just Don't Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Most empty plugins should be ESL-flagged so they all take 1 slot (the 255 one, leaving you 254 for regular ESP+ESM files). And just like MO tells you when a plugin is empty, it also tells you if a plugin is ESL-flagged (the yellow dot in the Flags column of your loadorder). So you don't even have to guess which ones are empty/light or not.

Well i'm not a modder so I don't know much about this but I think these plugins don't use esp slots since somehow they are flagged as ESLs

Just Don't Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 MO2 also tells you exactly where you're in that ESP+ESM limit, put your mouse over the Active: ### number (it's below the Run button) and you'll see the breakdown of ESP, ESM and ESL files.
