I can not pin this down, 11000 hours in skyrim, i am stumped, Game 113, mods up to date, SKSE, Papy mods, etc, none of my mod pages have problems of this nature from other users

IDK... check any associated Racemenu preset (if used) to make sure there are no empty "data" hash elements for skin override entries?

 

knock on wood I haven't experienced golden face yet, but I have a "turbulent ongoing relationship" with golden body glitches that are produced when Racemenu deletes or otherwise fails to write the data value into that skin override upon Racemenu character save.

 

(data value being the path to the default texture)

Hm, is that the bronze skin "bug" from the LE days? I have this archived from back then: No More Ugly Bronze Shine-29791-1-0.7z

 

The archive contains _sk.dds textures. That's where I'd start. If in doubt, remove any head related _sk textures to default back to the vanilla ones - just to see if the situation changes:

textures\actors\character\female\femalehead_sk.dds

 

Obviously if you have a mod that changes that path then the file is going to be elsewhere, but I trust with 11,000 hours that you can figure that one out.
