Rabbawabba4 Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Hello, I'm decently new to modding Skyrim. Got everything working after trial and error, then Steam updated Skyrim (thought I had turned updates off, wasn't the case.) After most of the main mods have been updated, updated SKSE, Papryus, Sexlab, Fuz Ro Doh, etc but Vortex is saying most of the mods that shouldn't need to be updated are inactive. Reloading the save anyway gives me a "Save is corrupt" error and a CTD. Usually look at other threads before posting, but I couldn't find anything to mitigate the issue. I shared a screenshot of the list of mods that it's warning me about, especially Sexlab, which I've already updated. Devious Devices I haven't updated because it's not out yet, but I figured I could get by without that one.
travelmedic Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I'm not playing Skyrim at the moment, so haven't had to worry about that update. Having said that, where are you seeing that your saves are corrupt in that screenshot? From what I heard, the update temporarily disabled everyone's mods, but what happens if you click "yes" there when it asks you if you want to activate your mods?
asdfabcd Posted December 19, 2023 Posted December 19, 2023 I had a similar problem. Apparently it was an issue with SSE engine fixes and the way it enables achievements. Either disable SSE engine fixes or set achievements enabled to false in the .toml file. Of course, now I get a crash immediately after the "achievements disabled" message on the main menu, but that might be a separate issue and might not happen to you.
Toddi Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 i had the same problem uninstalling SSE engine fixes helped itried some new unmoddet saves from Nexus and they´re all working

Uninstalling it entirely on a modded setup may make it impossible for you to play for any extended amount of time.

Would that be a problem for old moddet saves only or would a new playthrough also be affected?

I recommend you go through the mod description for SSE Engine Fixes as it lists the issues that it fixes. I'd say its an issue for both old and new.
