Certain Male Animations - Now Female

This issue is a rather odd one that has been plaguing me for a long time now.

After a while of playing New Vegas with Sexout, the male characters in the game will use some of the female animations for movement. However, this does not apply to ALL the animations. For example, the running animation (with no weapons out) plays like it should. When the assault carbine or baseball bat is equipped, the male characters will have the swaying hips that only occur when the female animation is being used.

This issue would appear anywhere between one hour after Sexout has been installed to around fourty hours. This only happens when a save has been loaded; when I have saved prior to the issue appearing, and then load that save, the animation bug will appear.

Loading earlier saves that don't have the issue are fine. But the bug may occur another couple of saves down the line.

I've narrowed the issue down to Sexout.esm. When the .esm is disabled and a save with the animation bug, the animations return to normal. When it's enabled, the issue is present.

Any ideas? I've even tried just loading Sexout.esm followed by SexoutCommonResources.esm, but the problem lies squarely with Sexout.esm.

It's not a mod conflict, as I have done a diagnostic run through with only the vanilla .esm files loaded and the two Sexout .esm files, and the problem showed up again.

If this is not solveable, a compromise that I would be willing to live with, is taking out the various armours and clothing from SexoutCommonResources and implementing them as a seperate ESP independent of the Sexout.esm.

I'm a rather avid roleplayer, so the lack of having the sexual animations and features does not bother me to any large extent, but I would like to keep the armours and clothing.

Thanks in advance.

Sexout has nothing to do with any walking/running animations. It does not include any. I think something else is to blame here, probably whatever mod installed those animations for you.

That's the thing; it's to do with the Sexout.esm. I've done tests with only Sexout.esm active with no other mods; the problem still occurs. Might be an issue with the "Player Body Type" setting in the MCM?

Agh well. I managed to put the armours and clothing into a seperate, standalone .esp file thanks to a mod merging script for Tes5edit. Works like a charm, for what it does.

if you have any mod who makes use of custom animations then these are too blame. new vegas is not oblivion so what ever walk or running you have installed will be used for both genders. i think zaz has some female walk behind hands so if your playing male then they too will be using this female walk.

Player Body Type does not do anything. It's just there so the player can select what body they have installed so other mods like pregnancy can use the correct outfits during clothing swapping -- so they don't swap to a T6 armor if you are using a T3 body, etc.

Sexout does not have any alternative walking or running animations, period. Walking animations for different gender are stored in the gender specific folders in the data directory. data/meshes/characters/_male/locomotion for males and data/meshes/characters/_male/locomotion/female for females.

If you have truly done testing with everything else uninstalled, those directories will not exist. If they do exist, you still have some mod installed that has added animations, and that mod is almost certainly to blame for the problem -- or some interaction between it and another mod.

Note that simply unchecking ESMs and ESPs in the load order is not enough to test -- you need to disable the other mods in the package manager. If you've only been disabling plugins in the load order, all the data files are left in place, making the test meaningless.

This is not true. FONV has different locomotion animation paths for different genders. See previous post for their locations. If you (or a mod) install them to the wrong place, well, bets are off.
