I've been tormented for years with computer issues.

Many games have crashes or issues that make it unplayable.

per-game issues:

Spoiler

Overwatch: I'll get a black dot that grows as I move my camera and will envelope the entire world aside from the skybox in a pitch black all consuming void only fixed by closing the game which causes me to abandon. Making Overwatch unplayable. I fixed this in skyrim by enabling debug mode in nvidia control panel but that fix doesn't work for Overwatch.

Skyrim: 1/2 I would get artifacting and little light blips of odd colors flickering all over my screen. I fixed this at the beginning by disabling debug mode but sometimes it would still do it. It doesn't do it anymore but I also do play with snow shader disabled. Maybe that was why I made that change.
Skyrim 2/2 Game just freezes and must be closed with task manager. I play 60fps locked and my gpu isn't stressed (according to HWinfo64).

World of Warcraft: One of the only stable games I can play. Both retail and classic.

League of Legends: Another game that's mostly stable. once or twice a game my computer will hang for 5-7 seconds and then continue working. As you can imagine this has single handedly lost me matches. I also quit LoL and I don't play it but it's just another example.

Dota 2: Only during teamfights my game will freeze and can only be closed via task manager and I must relaunch the game through steam. This has lost me many games because it only happens during teamfights. I lowered graphics settings and it rarely happens now. But still happens.

Satisfactory: Used to be horrible but is mostly stable. I could play for 40 hours and then I'd hit a wall where my game would just crash within a minute of loading.

Cyberpunk 2077: Same as Satisfactory. I played 125 hours my first playthrough and then hit a wall.

Valheim: Same as Satisfactory. I thought this was steam cloud related but disabling it doesn't fix the issue.

DOOM Eternal: Freeze until task ended just like Skyrim 2/2.

Fallout 4: Same as Skyrim 2/2

Minecraft: Stable

Grounded: Stable

Rust: Same as Skyrim 2/2

Now this has been going on for at least 3 years. I built my moms computer using mostly my old parts that worked great. When I say "my old <pc part>" I'm referring to parts in my moms PC and know work right.

I've tried not using gsync.
I've tried lowering graphical settings and FPS limits on games like CP77, Satisfactory, Valheim, Skyrim and Rust.

I've tried undervolting/underclocking my CPU and RAM

I've tried innumerable software solutions like registry edits and tweaking BIOS settings and wiping drives and reinstalling fresh windows several times.

I've tried disconnecting all drives except my C drive
I've tried my old ram (good old corsair vengeance LPX)
I've tried my old GPU (GTX 1080)
I used to own an OCZ RD400, it was my first NVMe drive. I bought a Samsung 980 Pro and replaced it entirely thinking maybe it was defective.

I bought a GTX 3070 and slotted it in, still doesn't fix it. Returned the GPU.
My asus motherboard stopped showing any PCIe devices I slot in my 16x slot so I had to buy a new motherboard. I think the PCIe slot became broken somehow.

I've taken everything out of my case and built it on my motherboard box.
I've probably done dozens of other things given this has been sporadically happening and manifesting in different games over the course of 3+ years.

What I know I haven't done, I haven't swapped my CPU or my PSU. I haven't tried the CPU yet because buying one for my socket is a rip off at this time. I haven't tried the PSU because they have a reputation for being robust. I haven't tried new PSU cables either.

Feel free to chat if you don't have any suggestions or might wanna play.

Sounds like a faulty MOBO personally.  I would suggest swapping out for AM5 TUF or AM4 TUF MOBO.  Whenever slots for a PCIe device are not showing at all it either means the BIOS is outdated or the MOBO itself is damaged.  Try updating your chipset via this link. https://www.amd.com/en/support

If that fails you might have to update the motherboards BIOS.  You can find at the ASUS homepage.  Not sure what variant you're using but if you're using a TUF AM4 slot here's a link to the latest BIOS.

Good luck, hope you'll get it fixed eventually.?

I did update the bios of the asus maximux X code. I even tried contacting asus support a couple times and they always say they'll elevate me then they just ghost me. I did find out the first time I tried contacting them it was 2 months after warranty expired. But even if that did solve the issue, that PCIe 16x slot broke and I've been using a new motherboard. It's an asrock I believe.

Try stress testing your hardware:

GPU: Furmark https://geeks3d.com/furmark/

CPU: Prime95 https://www.mersenne.org/download/

RAM: Memtest86+ https://www.memtest.org/

While doing so, check the temperatures:

HWMonitor https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

HWInfo64 https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

So what's interesting, I've ran cinebench, fuzzy donut, aida64, memtest, crystaldiskmark, and prime 95. They all work beautifully and I get consistent scores. But it has been a couple years so it may be worth trying them all again.
