Freezes keep happening in most caves.

Papyrus.0.logGonna post my papyrus log here. Not sure it'll help but before anyone recommends a crash logger I'll say I'm not expecting crashes, I am getting very frequent freezes inside most caves. I've started brand new characters and it happens on those too. Dawnstar seems to be a big problem area on my older characters, freezing as soon as I fast travel to or walk to dawnstar as well. In general, new characters and old freeze in most caves. Usually I can walk around for a bit but at a certain point my screen freezes and opening my favorite tab often causes it. I alt tab out to close skyrim when it freezes and it says skyrim is not responding. I've removed some recent mods that could have been causing it but no dice. Normally I'd just chalk it up to being a corrupted save/character and start anew but as I said it happens on new charcters which surprised me. I'm currently running the same mods I have for a long time so I'm stumped, if anyone can clue me in to what could be casuing this I'd be very appreciative.

The mod list is too long for my old eyes, and too many mods I just don't recognize. 

 

So, I'll offer a bit more general debug advise. Since it's only (or mainly) caves, it could be any of your installed mods that offers changes to cave interiors, or any creatures, or items found there. Otherwise, I'd think perhaps a lighting issue.

 

That should narrow your list considerably I think, although again, I'm not sure which of your mods are affecting the area of concern, although you might.

Yeah, I've went through and removed some cave and underground texture mods and some lighting mods, no luck so far unfortunately. It's one of those pain in the ass problems that could stem from anything. That's the joys of skyrim modding for ya.

Hmm... not just "anything". Caves are pretty specific (and ime, surprising) places to be crashing with regularity. I consider caves so low key that I dodge into them when I start to see script bottlenecking or FPS issues during my wandering... they're so "quiet" overall (In terms of skyrim loading).

 

Can you provide a parsed-down listing of the mods that would most likely be involved? (for instance: I don't use it, but based on the name and you crashing in caves... Loki Horses is a pretty unlikely candidate and needn't be on such a list, etc etc etc). (also like I said, you use some mods I don't I have no idea what those mods bring to the table. Putting them on a "could affect caves" list makes it clear what they are, even if not in detail)

 

And do you use crash logger (AE or SE) or netscript framework (SE only)? One of those crash logs would likely be helpful in isolating things/identifying potential culprits.

 

Also, check your save file for crap and purge it if so with fallrim resaver, just to be tidy.

 

Oh, don't forget flora stuff. mesh overhauls on some mushroom or whatever, could potentially cause snafus.

The thing is I don't really have a lot that alters caves. I have a cave texture mod and an underground texture mod for wooden beams and cobbled walls and such. The only other thing I'd suspect is creature framework or aroused creatures. I don't really use any major overhaul mods. I wouldn't suspect human npcs to cause any problems. Plus like I said I've been running essentially the same mod list for months with little issues, only adding random armor mods and such occasionally. That's why I say it seems like it could be anything.

I figured it was a problem with my computer's memory usage but I looked around in my .ini's and such and evrything checks out.

Freeze or CTD?

 

If CTD, crash logger output created? (if freeze, anyone's guess...)

You're right, I should have said debugger. I get those mixed up sometimes. My point is, there is no other way to debug a freeze than with a debugger.

 

Considering your response to my previous post was "huh" I'm going to assume that debugger idea isn't happening. So, that leaves you with plan B: Rip your setup apart until it stops freezing. Start with mods containing dll files. Get rid of physics, enb, animations, performance and papyrus patches and enhancers and other silly stuff like that first. Remove the actual patches (engine fixes sse, ...) last.
