By no means am I an expert on this stuff.

There are a few things to consider before even trying to mod Skyrim.

1. What do you want from a modded Skyrim? With over 80,000 mods available on Nexus and 2411 mods here on Loverslab for Skyrim SE/AE, you must first have an idea of what you want. Please keep in mind that the more mods you add the harder it will be to have a stable game and the more work and skill that will be needed to make it stable.

2. What base game are you using. LE, SE, AE, or VR? I am most familiar with SE and it is what I use, but AE is the newest version. Some mods are compatible for each version, while most are made for a specific version of Skyrim.

3. What is your skill level when it comes to modding? From your question I will assume little to no experience with modding.

4. How much time are you willing to commit to modding your game? it can be a considerable time sink to make a modded Skyrim work correctly, especially with lots of mods.

5. What is your appetite for learning new things and being frustrated a lot? The learning curve gets steeper the more mods you add and consequently the more frustration. Depending on how ambitious you are, you may end up spending hundreds of hours just trying to get the game to work, with little time left for playing the game.

As for Adult mods, they are relatively no different than other mods, some will run right out of the box, many others will require other mods to work, and many are not compatible with other adult mods.

The best way, would be to start small, learn the various modding tools (there are lots of guides online) and begin by adding in basic functionality and some simple mods, then slowly building your modding skills over time and adding greater complexity. Like school without the teacher.

If you are not looking to learn how to mod your game, do not have the time to do so, or are simply looking for an easy to instal and fun porn version of Skyrim (I don't judge) then a modpack may be the solution you are looking for. Even there you will need to follow the instructions for those modpacks precisely to get them to work correctly. Also keep in mind with a modpack you are installing someone else's vision of what they wanted from a modded Skyrim so depending on your level of deviancy you may be exposed to more adult content than you are looking for or not enough (if you are a pervert like me).

When selecting a mod pack you have three systems that I know of that can deliver a functioning game relatively easily. There may be more systems out there, but the following three are all I am familiar with. By system I mean they have a mechanism to easily download a modded version of Skyrim that someone built for a particular playstyle with little or no skill.

1. Vortex Collections. - Adult versions are flagged with the ADULT tag they can be found here on Nexusmods.com. These will use Vortex as your mod manager.

2. Wabbajack Modlists - Adult versions are flagged as NSFW. They can be found here at Wabbajack.org. These will USe Mod Organizer 2 as your mod manager.

3. Nolvus - This is a NON Adult modlist that is really large and not well suited for modification into an Adult game and I only include it for completion sake. It can be found here at Nolvus.net

Another consideration you will have to make is how robust your computer is and can it handle various modpacks. Read the FAQ's and other documentation for the various modpacks you would like to use to see if they will run on your PC.

Modifying your Skyrim game can be a very rewarding adventure, but the further it deviates from the vanilla game the more work that will be needed.

All that said, if you want to attempt it yourself then a good place to start has already been posted in this thread. For Skyrim SE.

For Skyrim AE use the following guide

https://www.loverslab.com/topic/200681-skyrim-ae-for-beginners-v-200-3ba-hdt-smp-hph/

Good luck.
