Talionic Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 (edited) I decided to format and release a small model change mod I did for my own playthrough, hoping to instill others to look into this side of modding BG3. It is a direct model replacement. As such, you can only install one. Three options for differing sizes of the Male Dragonborn Penis Genital type. Please read the README .txt file UPDATE: Generated.zip is a fully modeled version, there are no size variants, however the previous rendition was simply just a rescale. may affect(?) performance, I kept the LOD mesh same quality as the main mesh. Note; I might add future changes to the rest of the races, and/or the female dragonborn version aswell. This is however, extremely easy to learn and do, you could easily do it yourself too! KiwiDaGoat Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 How did you do this? I wanna learn how to personally mod my game too, but I have no idea what to do or even how to do it. Great mod btw, I was hoping something like this would appear soon. Is this drop in and play or do I have to make a new character?
Guest Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Great Mod, I would also like to know how you did it, or if you can point us in some direction towards learning it?

Is this drop in and play or do I have to make a new character? It simply replaces a mesh file, should work mid playthrough! I used Norbytes Converter app to unpack the models.pak located in Baldurs Gate 3\Data Found the desired file using Agent Ransack, and used Norbyte's converter app to convert the .GR2 file into a .dae file. Do note the base blender .dae export does NOT work, it literally just didn't load the model in game in my testing. I found an addon for blender 'see Collada-Exporter' that the game can read from my understanding and testing. Convert the modified .dae into Collada's .dae export and then convert that back into a .gr2 file using Norbytes converter. 3

Thank you! Please see my above post, I really only figured this out in about an afternoon worth of time, I don't have much modding experience at all haha. 1

Thanks.
HyenaDingo Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Incredible, I'm thrilled to know this is possible. Now... I'll throw my hat in the ring for this to happen on female half-orc

I've set up Norbytes app, and instaleld the proper external both pggp, gplex and protoc.... but how do I got about exporting? When I run "Rebuilder_parser" it just fails saying it can't locate Osiris and if I try to open a .pak file with it does nothing I was hoping you'd add more details... thanks so much for any help or insight you can provide.
HyenaDingo Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Okay, making progress, following this. Steam Community :: Guide :: Unpacking .PAK files of Baldur's Gate 3 Will likely update with more problems soon. 1

You need to download the packaged release file here, and run ConverterApp.exe I setup my exports workspace in the exact same place as my ConverterApp, '\ExportTool-v1.18.1\Exports' helps keep things tidy. Thinking back I did have an issue I completely forgot about in retrospect. The current release of the converterapp is missing granny2.dll in the main directory '\ExportTool-v1.18.1' so I pulled the .dll from version v1.15.13. Without it the app will fail to export and import .gr2 files. 2
HyenaDingo Posted August 6, 2023 Posted August 6, 2023 Okay.... aaaaaand I'm stuck here... any ideas?

HyenaDingo Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Just a simple test, I used you model and replaced the name and folder path to the HalfOrc Female, seems it actually works which means doing multiple races will be easy once completed. 4 hours ago, Kryes said: You need to nab the Granny2.dll from v1.15.13 and put it in the same directory as the .exe. Thank you so much, another step down. I've made good progress. I'm now attempting to export from Blender with the improved collada export but running into issues. But when I open it in the LSLib, I run into issues... I suspect it has to do with how I'm editing in Blender and the package I'm actually exporting. Would you give me your 2 cents on how to export from blender properly? 1

Hey Kazzax, you need to select the option Triangulate in the Export window within blender. edit: Also, I see you're using converter app 1.15.12 You just need to copy the granny2.dll to the current version, I haven't tested the outdated version of the app, as its for an older version of bg3 Edited August 7, 2023 by Kryes
Talionic Posted August 7, 2023 Author Posted August 7, 2023 Hey guys, Quick little update I did as I found myself yet again with free time go figure. I completely modeled and separated the back side the model, and so far has been working perfectly in game, I've added the file to the main post 2
ryandekker Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 After working in Blender, I converted it to .gr2 using Tool. What should I do now?
HyenaDingo Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 You're a god, you taught an absolute novice how to make edits. We did it. 5

You'll need to download and install Collada-Exporter as an addon in blender. This is for export though. For now, youve GR2 -> .dae you should be able to import it into blender, but you have to go to file -> import -> Collada .dae
funfun74 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 Any chance of getting female dragonborn with breasts? 2
ModerMA Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Thank you so much for the mod and tutorial, I've been looking for it.
lukashisuphola Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Thanks and well done to both, hope more modders do as you both hope and expect and take up the mantle and go forth and make the world a better place (and the game).
