Heels sink into the ground when equipping armor/clothing

I don't have this problem with all heels. Only heels from Melodic(I posted on his discord but doesn't hurt to post here too). Because it's a LE mod I needed to convert it with CAO and changed the heels method to HH_OFFSET in the hopes it would work better, but it doesn't help. They sink into the ground whenever I equip something or load a game(so I have to re-equip them). What's causing this? The mod I'm using is Sylvia Heels.

Only thing I know about this is that there's still 2 different methods to achieve the high-heel offset. One is RaceMenu (presumably NiOverride) and the other is something else. Rumour is one works better than the other. I stick to RaceMenu.

Another thing to note is that the collision meshes for floors in Skyrim are "close enough" and I wouldn't count on it always interpreting the floor the same way (because of foot IK and other "smoothing" algorithms that may be going on). You may want to do your testing on some simple flat ground, like in these for instance.

That might be the case, but I've fixed it by changing them from armor to clothing. No idea why that would work but "it just works". ?

Lazytools offers a heel adjustment, and of course the highheels mod also provides heel support. (not sure if that's available any more)

But... IME, although I have highheels installed, many of the meshes around Skyrim end with player either floating a few "inches" off the ground (I see this all the time when climbing around on the higher passes in mountains), and others where my feet are sitting an inch or so below ground. Oh, and just ftr, I don't even use highheels. I have stock "fur boots"

I know that boots "sink" into the ground sometimes because the ground is uneven, and the actual physics plane is below the visible ground. But that was not the case. I was walking around in streets of Whiterun and the loss of heel height became very obvious when my character suddenly sank an inch. But it's fixed now though.

There is that. I meant times when it's an excessive sink or rise.  Like sunk so deep that the foot proper isn't visible (just the rise at or above the ankle). or a person could roll under the space between my feet and the ground, like is the case with my current female character when I visit a couple of the dragon sites with word walls.

In any case, if you weren't aware before, now you know about two mods that you can use to manipulate your heels.

best wishes!

Likewise! I need to rectify my previous statement. It was Heels Fixes that fixed the issue, not converting it to clothing(which doesn't make sense tbh). I did both before testing and Heels Fixes didn't work before, so I got confused. Might be good to know.

fwiw, I've noticed temporary "ground shifts" on occasion after installing a new mod which, for whatever reason, result in these displacements. Perhaps some of them have different idea of what "The" ground plane is... Fortunately, the game seems to self heal issues like that over the course of successive days, although it's all magical mumbojumbo to me how it resolves them.
