Bodyslide and FNIS

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I'm getting back into this after years away. I noticed my bodyslide changes unless my character is nude. I've tried writing to a mod vs overwrite and alternating between Root node and Bip node (I have no idea what the difference is and clarification would be most welcome).

1) Would writing to my FNIS overwrite mod cause any problems?

2) Would using a unique player mod cause any problems?

3) Whenever I try to equip my character with SOS I get the following error, even when using a futa mod.

I expect I'm doing something wrong with where I put the generated bodyslide files and morphs. Any tips would be appreciated.

edit:

Furthermore I have noticed FNIS sexlab animations just causing characters to overlap, even when character is not equipped with SOS.

This isn't clear. Do you mean your character looks like it has the correct body shape except when your character is nude, or the other way around?

Unless you're creating a custom 3D model, I don't know why you're messing with these nodes. For the time being, I recommend you stop doing that until you know for sure what you're doing.

What do you mean by "FNIS Overwrite Mod"?

Possibly. If the mod uses a model set other than "femalebody_0" and "femalebody_1" one located at "Data\meshes\actors\character\character assets" then you need to make sure you're changing the right model.

Bodyslide defaults to this folder I just listed. Therefore, if you want to change the bodyslide of a unique character or follower, you will need to find where their character models are stored.

For example, the follower Rosa Round Bottom has her models located here: "Data\meshes\actors\character\Rosa"

Therefore, if I want to change her bodyslide, I will build the body in the default location (character assets) then copy that model into the correct folder and overwrite the files. This concept applies to the player character as well. For example, the custom player race mod Nymph Girls of Skyrim saves the player model in a different location from the default one, therefore requiring you to find and overwrite the correct files to properly apply the bodyslide.

That's a "missing/null model" icon from Creation Kit. As far as I know, that shouldn't be displaying in your game at all. It should simply be invisible. Do you see those icons elsewhere in the world? If you do, then I'm guessing you accidentally imported that icon into your game's usable graphics somehow. Otherwise I'm guessing one of the mod authors added it to their mod for debugging purposes.

Either way, it's a missing model. Not a broken model, a completely missing one. If the model was broken, it would either look weird or cause your game to crash.

Unless you're using a unique character model that is separate from the default models as described above, you shouldn't need to move them at all if you installed your modding tools (ie: Bodyslide and FNIS) correctly.

I meant to say that the bodyslide changes do not take effect unless the character is nude.

1) I have FNIS file redirection turned on and have the generated results written to a separate MO file

2) This is where I am getting a little confused. Both FNIS and Bodyslide are run out of their MO mods - although I did follow directions and move the FNIS ini file to the correct location in my skyrim data. Is this correct? Currently bodyslide is being built off of the XPMSE character assets female skeleton file, also in its MO file.

3) This would seem to clarify that I am messing up my bodyslide generation which causes Sexlab, SOS and FNIS to have errors.

I only see this icon if I try and make my character nude and see it nowhere else.

I tried again without using the unique player mod or having FNIS build to a new file.

No changes, although it appears that the female NPC's are using the bodyslide file.

When I run Bodyslide through MO, am I correct in understanding it should be run in the game data path?

Furthermore, should I be running the game with the Bodyslide mod enabled?

Thank you very much.

This missing "!" symbol means for the creation kit and the game to use "something", which is not available, missing. This also happens, if you have a gamebryo-file, which can not being used inside of skyrim, but which is causing NO crash or other problem, simply something, which the game-engine can not "read"-it ´s possible, that the nif-file has something inside, which is not suiting with the game format in whole, but which is around all this only a small issure.

BIP seems to me to be a standard - rig for a skeleton, which can be used for animation- creations, to have a conform product-result (animation-standard-file) between different software, for example available inside of 3dsmax. As those rigs do not use the same bone-names, compared with the skeleton of skyrim, BIP animations would need to have an adaptor so that BIP-animations could become working for a skyrim-skeleton. Bones would need to be "linked" to work for a target-skeleton, then.

Bodyslide is working for the author´s added skeleton-types for some few different games and for the bethesda skeleton for creation this "vectorized" bethesda-clothing-skeletons for all CLOTHING/ARMOR.

I can not sure how a futa-mod is adding it´s genitals, but I guess that this part is not a visible one inside of BS with all it´s extra-bones (rigged)(this is what I imagine about that so far). Also a male-body is coming with a "missing" genital if loaded without cloth... (SOS is adding the part to the body as soon the body is becoming naked, and with it´s own "framework-mechanic, based on also a small additional skeleton (rigged)) I guess.

I´d check out the futa-mod again and it´s way it needs to work. Maybe there´s a problem with a version or with the supported game-version.

Appears I was trying to use SOS futa mods for SE while using LE. Disabling those first.

They were also building to a different filepath than the one that were working, attempts to change them make the error go away but still do not show anything.

T posing seems to be because of too many animations!

Also forgot that I was building morphs, so I should be making changes in the racemenu!
