Omicr0n Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 (edited) For a while now I've been starting new games using a save where I've already made various adjustments to the town so that I don't have to do these every single time. This worked well until I decided I wanted to try playing with shorter lifespans. I adjusted my lifespan settings and started a new game using my save, only to realize that the ages of everyone in town are set when you initially start the game and apparently don't update to match changes to the lifespan settings after that, so now a whole bunch of people are trying to age up on the 2nd day. Is there some way I can mass update everyone's ages with MasterController or otherwise so that I don't have to start over completely just to try out different lifespan settings?. I'm aware that I could go through each sim one by one, but that would be tedious, although less so than starting a new save from scratch I suppose. Edit: Nvm, I think I've figured it out: City Hall -> NRaas -> Master Controller -> Sim -> Intermediate -> Age: Relative. Now I just need to figure out how many days I need to subtract for each age group. I probably should have kept a record of my previous lifespan settings. Edit2: I still ended up having to adjust each sim individually, because subtracting a certain number of days for an entire age group wouldn't have worked correctly. There seems to be some kind of formula involved for determining how to scale the ages based on whatever their original age was, and there also seems to be some randomness involved or floating point rounding because the scaled ages didn't really line up with the ages listed on the wiki for normal difficulty. So the number of days added or subtracted to a sims age doesn't appear to be the same for every sim in the same age group. I ended up just starting a new game in the same world with the new lifespans, and just taking screenshots of the sims ages listed in MasterController so that I could set them to be the same in my actual save. FreakyRufus Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 It is possibly provided by Story Progression, but every time I start a game, or even travel to a new town, I get a pop-up saying that I have adjusted the age spans, and asking if I want to adjust everyone's ages.
