Xenomorphs...

Not sure about how compatible the assets are going to be yet, but I seem to remember some developing Xenomorph assets for Skyrim (some eggs, even an animated facehugger). I think it was Fox Girls Club or something like that. It was entirely immersion-breaking for an Elder Scrolls series, but man does the Xenomorph life and reproduction cycle check a lot of kink boxes for me. Eggs, parasitic crawlies, ovipostion, parasitic pregnancy. Even the violent birth (chestburster) could be used to give the mechanics of infestation actual consequence. Considering events of Alien occurred early to mid 2100s, it would be entirely plausible to encounter 'remnants' of the Xenos in Starfield's timeline. Possibly in the debris-field of the Nostromo (spoilers).

This would definitely darken the tone of Starfield a bit, but I don't think you're going to get a better timeline alignment of the Xenomorph saga in a Bethesda game. Too good to pass up, imo.

Do we have a list yet of SF critters?

The Ashta likely have the biggest prominence of in-game creatures (granted I'm only 10 hours in), but there are some lore notes suggesting other 'agressive' weaponized animal projects as well. Not sure yet if they show up later or have proper names. Would be nice to see a comprehensive list of creatures at some point after I've 'completed' the game. I would guess there is a finite (though likely extensive) list of spawnable animals placed on planets with appropriate biomes for that creature type. Finding them wont be as simple as heading to your local stables, though modding them into the static parts of the game like the cities would offer more instant viabilty. I could see Neon having an underground, exotic creature smuggling den at some point.

BASELESS SPECULATION ZONE:

There's gotta be a ship called the 'Ark' with a bunch of Earth critters on it, right? Too cliche?

They got Rieklings to work in Skyrim. I have no doubts we're going to have heatleech futa's and tit-invading xenogrubs eventually. It might just take a year or two before the frameworks have matured enough.

Some thoughts on some good xenos to do this with:

- Heat leeches that jump out from the holes (could have a parasite/pregnancy system)

- Plants that have tentacles/aphrodisiac gases

- Xenogrubs. You already know where that's going. Perhaps finding out where the grubs come from in order to make them shove up certain orifices.

- If you have Alien DNA trait, it could allow you to impregnate/get impregnated by aliens

- Any predatory animal would be great for a hunt/rape sort of thing

- Robot sex dolls

- I'd love to have facehuggers/facehugger-like enemies in somehow that jump out from lockers. That would make the game spooky and also open up the Alien series can of worms.

From what I've heard and some insider shit from a dev (cannot say who) the assets are going to be super, super compatible and easily moddable. Happy modding, everyone.

Oh and I just found out something about Terrormorphs (said alien horror with the most likely a penis) that will DEFINITELY play with the theme of this thread.

Spoilered in respect for those who like surprises.

Spoiler

So I went on a mission for the Vanguard, sent to a remote outpost in Tau Ceti to investigate why contact was lost there. Turns out a Terrormorph attacked the outpost. One survivor, a UC researcher who was sent by MAST a short time before me. She told my character a bit about the Terrormorphs, not only are they Apex Predators who are strong, durable and cunning, but as they grow older they gain psychic powers. They can DOMINATE the minds of lesser creatures and keep them around as "pets, livestock or...toys" (her words).

Three words, "Cult of Fur."

expanded explanation/ idea is that a bunch of furry scientists stranded after earth dies use DNA from vaults, and cryo to create at first bio weapons for the military followed shortly by side and main experiments generating embrio's for less combat oriented and aesthetically pleasing species, their system is blocked off by all factions and any non human life form from that system is considered contraband and unless you turn around they will shoot your ship down.

The NIFS literally are not compatible with any existing tools, and according to Hexabits it's going to be non-trivial to get stuff like NifSkope working at all...

Actual modders in the framework thread say not only is nothing compatible, some of the formats are completely new. Nice "insider" ya got there buddy.

Ooo! Possible Hypno Starfield Mod? Possible quest line where mind fucked Player serves the TerrorMorph or in this case, Hypnomorph!

I got some bad news for you all...

Which doesn't make any damn sense. They had 50 years to evacuate Earth, have cloning technology, but didn't preserve any DNA samples if it was decided not to bring dogs (along with other useful animals) along with the human exodus? I love most of Starfield's lore, but some of it is just not well thought out.

All the Aliens I have seen so far are ugly as fuck. People would need to mod in some Dogs or Horses. Not only because the Alien Monsters are ugly, also because there would be no Animations for them. You can probably somewhat easily convert over Skyrim Animations for Dogs/Horses.

Another big issue I see with critter sex is most of them are on planets where humans require spacesuits and can't walk around nude or have their suits torn open or they die fast. So it sorta breaks the immersion side. So, we would need mods to make all planets breathable.

One thing that I think could be done for mods in the "business management" side of things would be to have quest lines where you collect DNA samples from a combination of both living and dead critters for the purposes of cloning them, which could allow you to set up a venue that could best be described as a live porn theatre where you can watch women have sex with the critters you have cloned, or perhaps do them yourself and get a randomly generated tip based on the level of your Commerce skill (or if you even have it at all)
