Need help with scripting

I’m trying to get into scripting so that I can create some mods of my own. I’m very much a novice at this point. Is there anyway to make a mod, that would usually target PC, target followers instead? Maybe changing some keywords in a script, or writing a completely new one? Thank you.

Depends on the mod. Have you located where it does the "targeting"?

Afaik, while I don't code in Skyrim (I'm a muddled retiree who'd need to be hand held through learning it), I believe that followers are within their own faction. So targeting a faction might be an answer.

 

AND... since there are magic items and spells that affect only allies, and even just followers (as a faction?), I'd say yes, although I don't know the exact mechanics (ie code) of how to get there.

 

Since you're new to CK, I'd recommend visiting their knowledge base or whatever it's called, and do some of the introductories. I have looked at some of the commands on one of their code wikis here and there by accident, and they do have a pretty extensive code bible, so many of the answrs are there once you get a bit up to speed on the "language" (or paradigm or whatever the f it is)
