Need help putting together a stable Oblivion

I have posted this here because Lovers PK is what I want to get working well.

I need a stable version of oblivion, I am starting a quite naughty project involving e-hypnosis and oblivion also for the longest time I have wanted to actually play Oblivion properly, Skyrim is nice but I still think it is 2 years away atleast from having the depth and fun of oblivion.

 

I know it is not supported here but I chose what I hoped to be the easy way, I downloaded the AIOblivion complete experience after all one big package of everything that I could want, unfortunatly I have found it to be rather unstable, 9 times out of 10 when I enter any crowded inn, included the one in bravil to get to the underground causes a crash to desktop.

 

I have re-installed the entire package six times in the last three weeks followed every instruction to the letter but for me atleast it just seems an unstable package if I want to actually play the game and not just load it up for a bit of perverted quick fun.

 

On the plus side it learnt me a lot about wrye bash.

 

So my first order of business is to ask what can I bring over from that package without having to find new versions of everything.

 

A new install is happening as I type this I decided a complete wipe and restart of oblivion (delete local content, delete oblivion folder, delete settings in mydocuments)

 

Now first order of business once game is installed, forgot to mention it is the steam GOTY edition with everything.

Run Oblivion once and load up my 4 different save games if they load then save in a small cell so I have basic "clean" versions to test with.

Re-install Wrye Bash

Do we have a package deal or do I need to download each part piece by piece and what resource packs do I need.

I know that I am asking a lot but this is my sixth install my pc is a games machine, no bloatware all drivers updated, windows 7 64bit i5 2500k 8gb ram no reason I should not be able to get a version of oblivion working and not crash every 5-10 mins.

 

I am greatful for any help offered.

The short answer is that nothing from the AIO from Hongfire is supported from this site, and none of it can be assumed to be compatible.

It can't be any other way, unfortunately; if we wanted to provide support for the AIO package, we'd have to get it ourselves, test it, look into the code etc. It's a huge waste of time for something you can just download off the nexus - which you should have done in the first place, because AIO's for mods usually contain plugins that are out of date and sometimes aren't as stable as downloading the individual plugins.

 

Also, for the body mods, I suggest you grab Setbody from here instead, and select whichever body you want from it.

It all seems to work, I know that I shouldn't sound suprised but I am,
actually managed to explore and find my old houses, this save game
is my original one with over 400 hours on the clock.

I did install them

Now I just installed Tomago, stupid NPC and setbody reloaded, will do a bit of playing to see if it has issues.

It is possible to run the AIO without CTD's every 5 minutes, but it is far more difficult than most would realize.  While it may seem like an easy way to install everything and get to playing the game, it requires a bit more work than just pressing the easy button.  It gets easier the deeper your understanding of Wrye Bash and Bain packages.

 

The downsides are that many of the plugins are out of date and it is difficult to bring in new plugins, as it is bound to conflict with something already there.  In other words you are trading easier to get mods and install (AIO), with flexibility of installing new plugins or changing out old ones (using individual plugins).

 

I am currently beta testing a series of limited AIO LPK plugins.  This will hopefully resolve some of the issues those new to LPK have.  I am shooting to have it posted this weekend along with updating the guides and FAQS.

Well for the first time in many moons my game is stable I actually went out and explored a whole dungeon without any glitches or crashes.

i understand you want to make things easy for users tu pull and fix problemes out to answer what can be incompatible    but   i think (it is only my personal way of thinking)  if a person want a fast food he can directly download what is correct  if he want to understand and to make it his own way he needs just indications not answers he will understand alone what and how the hard way (it is my conception and my line of doing)       and if a user is asking help with any kind of mod for me it means that he did not understand the topic 'read before posting'   you might need to translat this thread to all sort of languages

but from what i understand from most of users that they want you to fix their problems often with a christal ball or with mind reading in their own language      i know you are strong but did not know you were an extralucid

 

i started with aio my self and by choosing what i want cleaning with tes4edit and updating the mods i finaly found my self with a standard LL mods     it took time  to understand the load order (have no boss and tes4edit to bash have no wrye bash)

 

but i do not say no for more guids and faqs  generaly i like to help if i can   and point to a good link

LPK adds so much to the oblivion game and for a none mod type person it can be a very daunting project, you can easily ruin your game can cause issues far and wide, I actually started over at the wolf forums before everything was moved here, back when the lovers packs actually contained cursed armor, oh how the headaches happened with all of that.

 

The AIO or even the oblivion complete experience over at hongfire is an amazing project and kudos to the author because getting that many mods in one package to even load up is a miracle but because there is so many mods and certain parts get updated and if you want to use an old save game it can become so unstable.

 

For the past 6 months I literally just used my oblivion game as a hentai game, limiting myself to small cells and trying not to touch anything because it might explode.

 

Even though that was seen as the "easy" option, I actually calculated that in the last 6 months 14 re-installs happened (love steam) and after each re-install I spent roughly a week trying to get it as stable as possible and by that time my wish to actually play Oblivion was burnt out of me.

 

Which is a pitty because I believe it will be many years before Skyrim can even touch this game.

 

Coming here again and downloading all the parts, reading all the original posts and trying to work out if everything will work together was scary but i have only had one crash since starting this journey yesterday morning, that crash was when I used the LST system to enslave someone who was a scripted npc with a purpose.

 

I still need to add a lot of stuff like the rapers system and maybe the extender but will take a break to actually play this game again.

 

My character is my original one from 2006 a nightblade with the main quest series complete as well as a lot of the other parts, I have decided to use frostcrag as my home and currently I am trying to find my dragon armor which I believe is in one of the city house somewhere lol.

 

My advice to new people is read the posts here and follow the advice, wrye bash may take you out of your comfort zone if you are use to nexus mod manager or obmm but it is a very powerful tool with hooks for both boss and obmm.

 

You are going to have to do some reading and have some patience but in the end you will actually know your own version of Oblivion.
