Brainstorming a "Naughty Thief" (03/09/2024 Update!)

Recommended Posts

I know that I want LAL, the usual body mods, and the typical punishment/death alternative mods. But where I'm stuck is the actual thieving part. Obviously, the easiest things to steal are items in the actual world space. But I have no idea if those items repopulate over time, or if you need a mod for that. Likewise, I'll need to find some mods that either make light armor skimpy, or encourage doing stealth naked.

While I look, it'd be cool to read about anyone else's modlists for this concept.

You could find a skimpy replacer that you like, and only use the light armors from it.

That's already encouraged, at least until you get the "muffle" effect from a spell, enchantment, or perk. You make more noise based on the weight of your equipped gear. If it's not as drastic as you would like, you could increase the fSneakEquippedWeightMult game setting to make it harder to sneak around with armor on.

I've had great success using FMEA in my thieving adventures. Adds a bit of excitement when it comes to lockpicking. And mining. And enchanting. And plant harvesting.

Also, yes, the worldspaces respawn, but vanilla is terrible. It's every 30 days and the timer resets every time you enter that cell. You can use Wrye Bash to set it to something reasonable like 7 days in the Tweaks section. Alternatively, Skyrim Immersive Creatures has a random cell reset mechanic that I wish would be made into its own mod.

  • Gamer_Auto changed the title to Brainstorming a "Naughty Thief" (03/09/2024 Update!)

So, after.....almost a year... I've settled on some mods I know I want for this run.

I have other mods I'm looking at, but I'm not sold on if they'd fit a Thief run.

If you have any suggestions to augment this group or better options than what I chose, lemme know!

Ever since I last posted in this thread I kinda naturally oscillated towards making a more stealth based playthrough as well. Taking on enemies head on is very risky, and the outcome is not a save reload but death alternative leading into slavery outcomes.

I ended up ranting up a fucking wall of text, understandable if you don't wanna deal with that shit, I outlined recommended mods if that's all you care about.

I will once again recommend SL survival but for different reasons now, I mean more reasons to pickpocket and being able to customize pickpocket lists is still very nice. But having cities be more heavily guarded and then using some kind of sewer mod to sneak out of town during  curfew hours feels very fitting to a lewd thief gameplay, it also helps making male npcs being more of a menace by giving them (configurable) buffs to movement speed etc. all the while steep fall will make you think twice about running in those heels on the stairs while escaping guards (it also just generally improved combat for me, having to consider terrain around me lest my character just falls down flat on her tits). Licenses is a lot more lightweight than SL survival, but SL survival I like a lot more... it has more soul in it I guess. I enjoy when mods feel less gamey and more immersive I guess.
SE version is still there, download it now just in case you end up going for SL survival, its not that Licences is bad, its that licenses has like 5-10% of features SL survival has, and I like almost all of them.

Seems like Licences is an ok mod if you want something simple though, but survival's licenses are a lot more flavorful and hooks into other mods like Lola and devious followers (which has a continuation on SE, one of the things I am jelly about), and in general it just drives the motivation a lot better since it has so many systems to keep the player having to resort to crime or just wanting to avoid direct conflict, since she needs more money than she can earn legally.

SL survival + Realistic needs and diseases is a very easy emergent gameplay feature that pushes character to do crime even if current situation is not in her favor.

Body search is a possibility as well, that is a mod I don't usually use, but I did use it in the past, by default random searches will take away your lockpicks.

I enjoy https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1405-deviously-enchanted-chests/ for making stealing more dangerous since deviously cursed loot can result in some issues with mods I run with.

Now here is a SFW gem I found a while back and I love it for any stealth character Suspicious Guards https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38762

Makes you actually consider actions you take around the guards not just sneaking around then and them just commenting and not much else.

Too bad you are on SE or I would recommend SFW mod hot and sweaty detection, it can link up to bathing in skyrim and make your smelly cumslut reveal herself by scent alone if she refuses to bathe, no clue if it works on SE so I won't even link it here

Lola Resubmission could work as a Simple slavery since you use it anyway, you could use prison alternative alongside it, disable all the torture and death stuff if you don't like it (I sure don't), make the duration shorter and have it send you to simple slavery plus plus more often, thus making prison actually kinda dangerous if it sends the player to lola or other slavery mods. I enjoy Devious Followers and public whore, my logic is having more possible slavery outcomes will just make longevity of the savefile's fun longer, though maybe wait for a next patch for public whore as its having some issues right now.

In general I don't like loading up previous save, it makes for a boring safe stealth gameplay, I'd rather roll with the consequences, and boy they can stack up the odds against me in my mod list. Be forced to become public whore, become pregnant, sexlab disparity lowering stealth and most combat skills during pregnancy. There are many possibilities of combinations of mods, giving yourself disadvantage after failed stealth attempts, and bigger risk makes it a more exciting game style for me.

Cock ride heroes is a nice mod, it is a mainstay at this point, in the same vein, Porny Signs and other mods from the same author are pretty nice and have some alternative variants if you don't like the original. https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/27736-porny-signs/

Another SFW mod I can't play without is Skyrim Souls https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27859

Unpaused menus make lockpicking, pickpocketing and combat a lot more tense.

Could also use whatever difficulty mod for combat that you enjoy so its more tempting to avoid direct conflict. I'm using Blade and BLunt because its fairly simple, it interacts with stamina in a major way which makes it tie in with sexlab mods and doesn't add shit like dodges.

SL survival + Realistic needs and diseases is a very easy emergent gameplay feature that pushes character to do crime even if current situation is not in her favor.

Licenses and Sexy Adventures are relatively new mods, made in response to Sexlab Survival getting unfairly nuked by it's own creator (I'm very torn about that subject, both understanding and salty). Adventures is more of a direct successor and Licenses is just the license system, but both have different takes on it and cover a good range of ideas. While neither is very feature-full yet, I still think they're good ones to watch and experiment with now. Once they do have more features, I have a feeling SLS will be as obsolete as Monomon1 believed it was (which it wasn't until it got nuked; before then SLS basically had a monopoly on actual SL gameplay, as very few mod lists went without it, and many mods utilized it as a foundation; again, very understanding yet very salty about that situation).

Realistic Needs + Diseases and other typical "survival genre" mods aren't currently something that I'm interested in; at least not to start the list with. I feel like, if I wanted something like that, I'd probably get more use out of Frostfall and its family of mods.

Now that sounds useful for my modlist!

I might run that, but like I mentioned before, I'm not that into DD in terms of aesthetics. DD feels a bit modern day for my tastes. Even if you try to pass off the latex as "Dwarven Oil-derived material" like Devious Lore did...it's still modern day latex, through and through. And I'm not even into latex to begin with. Unless DD has the option to toggle specific device categories and I've just missed that somewhere in the posts.

Oh, now that is going in the list! Totally fits with "Checking on the roads", too!

Eh, it's fine. I'm not into that kink combo anyway.

Devious Followers is another one I was thinking of in place of Lola but didn't mention, because followers don't really fit the idea of a sneaky thief; at least to me. Skyrim's follower system doesn't really jive with the sneak system, from what I've seen online. Only reason I even mentioned Lola was because it'd be a potential path into SS++.
I would for sure include either (or both) in a Warrior or Mage modlist, though.

Yeah, that was part of why I picked up Stealth Skills Rebalanced and asked for more ideas. I'm a save scummer when playing normally, but if I'm having kinky death-alts, I want the game to be hard so I can experience them. May add SD+ to the list, as I think SS++ can put you in there.

I like the idea of Porny Signs and others like it, but they always give me "Stolen Art" vibes, and I'm just not personally comfortable with that unless a mod author states explicitly and up front that they're used with permission.

Hm... I can move while pickpocketing? That's good. Would synergize well with Suspicious guards.

At the moment I think I'm good on diff. SSR + second-highest game diff + Sus Guards should be good.

Got any recommendations for smutty/lewd outfits and any sewer/hideout mods? I want the TAWOBA and TEWOBA grouping, but none of them cover the Thieves Guild armor (or at least don't advertise that they do).

For outfits I'd look on the nexus tbh, it's just easier to filter stuff there IMO, and a lot of the outifts are both here and on nexus. I'm sure SE has better choices outfit wise anyway, my experience ends on stuff that was backported from SE.

As for hot and sweaty that combo was a side tangent, the name is not even the main feature of this mod, maybe it was just a clickbaity name they decided on :D it's just a very nice stealth mod in general with ton of customization and makes weather and time of day a lot more impactful. But I've seen no comments stating that it works as is on SE so I can't really recommend it anyway.

If you are running body search you might also consider sexist guards since they are a 2 person family of mods sort of.

If you go for SD+ obviously grab any patches you can, but also SD cages, that mod is great because it also adds some hard enemies alongside them, and it does end up populating the world with some slaver-like architecture that's lore friendly looking at least the ones I visited.

I will also add what I changed through some weird old mods, not sure if SE has something like that, I removed combat music entirely, I searched high and low to find ways for NPCs to be able to ambush the player outside of just spawning npcs on top of you. The only two ways I found was removing combat music so you don't get alerted right away and a mod to make some enemies drink invis potions https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40102

The closest outfits I've found are Mara's Thief Armor and Keo's Skimpy Outfit Replacer. Kleo is a port from LE, so if you know anything good, I can check to see if it's been ported (or at least made compatible).

If there are patches, I'll for sure look for them. Can't seem to find "SD Cages", though. EDIT: Nvm, just found it.
