Looking to buy a new computer but kinda afraid to rebuild everything

My current mods list works pretty well.

Not perfect (( cant seem to uninstall this w/o breaking many female clothes CBBE Skimpy Armor and Clothing Replacer v2 at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com) ) , I had Fens Sheriff for a short time on unistall ( dindt like it) half of all diamond city guards now are naked under their baseball armor)

 

And other minor things, but everything else works real nicely.

 

if I have to rebuild it all from scratch I can see it may take me HOURS with no problems and DAYS with problem..

 

So I dunno.....

MM will remove everything it originally installed- not any loose files created after. You have to delete them manually. In MO, these are located in the mod staging folder... I think. For others, they are located in your game folder.

I use Vortex.

When I delete that file those settlers that would have worn skimpy costumes wear purple dresses.

That tells me that the vanilla texture are gone.

I have a backup nearly unmolested copy of the game on another harddrive .

But I have no idea where those clothes textures might be.

 

Same problem with the diamond city guards half of which go naked now (under baseball armor)

 

My largest fear though is not getting AAF and the progras it depends on right.

It took me SO LONG to get it to work at first.

 

Sure I learned so much about these things since last summer but still.

 

I just saw on another forum where someone disconnected his comuter from the internet and steam his anti virus and a couple other sthings topped using up memory and the game ran so much smoother for him.. he also has 16GB of RAM, which should be plenty but often is not if your machine runs windows 11 and other memory eaters.

type 'resetinventory' in console on them. This should give them back vanilla.

So I was lookign at the Starfield requirments today even though I do not intend to play t6that game anytime soon just out of curiosity where my computer stands.

Turns out my computer would meet not just the minimum but even the recommended hardware requirements except for the graphics card.

 

So I should be done if I just add a better graphics card.

On the other hand I want to add more mods.

Been looking into how to make stuff "light"

 

And maybe replace my mods that have "living" settlements prebuilt (with each settelment being one esp) with a collection that does all at once to save esp

So uh your worried about transferring the mods list?

 

Well if your not comfortable with pulling the drive from one PC to install in another....

 

Thumb drive.

 

External storage drive bay.

They got them for hdd and SSD drives.

 

SSD external storage bay is about 25 dollars.
