I've attempted a ? ???. Listened to the majority of advice across the forums and websites. uninstalled mods ( including ??????? ???????? ) and any mods that were installed when the conflicts arose. I'm going to uninstall ????? ?????? workshop mod and attempt to reinstall Sexbound API. If that doesn't work I'm convinced something within Sexbound itself is at fault and it's on THEIR end. HERE I GO.

As someone actively helping both users here and the Sexbound development, i can say, it works for everyone else, so you can either do what even the Frackin' Universe team says and release your log to the wild, so we may smell the problem... yikes that doesn't sound right.

So, to better report issues, try providing a description of the issue and recreating the issue in-game, then providing a log file.

To find the log file, it should be within your Starbound installation directory, then the storage folder. You should see a text file named starbound.log (Or simply starbound, a plain text file). Paste it into your response as a attached file, or use PasteBin, whichever you prefer. Then users can look into your issues with the necessary information at hand.

<Just please don't post the whole thing as text here>

The guide above should provide enough information where you can share the log with us. Don't concern yourself with the fact "The game doesn't launch, why would there be a log", Starbound actually provides a good coverage there, giving the log even when the game crashes on launch. (Or even if it refuses to launch!)

... that's about all can i say really. So uh... THE LOG! ... nope, can't get a good impression out.

Congratulations, you just bricked your savefile. I hope you have backups, because recovering from this will only be possible by deleting both your universe as well as player files.

That's okay. My old save file fucked up years ago, been testing with new characters to see if I can sort the Sexbound issue, so it's fine starbound.log.1 <THIS is my log file WITHOUT Sexbound.

starbound.log File.txt

Your "with SEXBOUND" log does indeed not contain any version of Sexbound. Furthermore, both your logs do not show the game crashing. They just show that you have not deleted your savefile and hence spam dozens of error messages regarding the items and effects your old players have that do not exist anymore, as you uninstalled the respective mods.

Okay. So what I gather from this is that, despite deleting the characters, the save files stayed intact? and also despite crashing after the logo, it shows no sign of crashing. Which is very much happening. HOWEVER if the old savefiles still exist, I am 100% down to delete thems and see if that helps.

I'm just telling you what both the logs you send me are telling me. Let's go through, for example, the "df3" one that is supposed to be with Sexbound installed.

Quite at the very top it says "Scanning for asset sources", both in "assets" and "mods" - then however, proceeds to only detect and load the main "packed.pak" (which are the game's vanilla assets) and some unnamed data from "assets/user" (Which I'd expect to be, like, installed custom songs or something otherwise I would look into that)

Later on, after first initial setups (because yes, that's how stupidly broken Starbound is by design), it does the entire mod loading loop again, this time however including Steam workshop mods from the Steam workshop folder - where it correctly finds and loads Cutebound.

Then after line 42 it's done with that and proceeds to setup all the game's internal database caches like normal. Which it does, error free, until it's done in line 80.

Then it begins loading the players of your savefile - because yes, the game does so even on startup, for the off-chance that you might at some point in the future click Singleplayer or Multiplayer where it then needs to display them for selection.

Which is where it immediately spams the log with error messages. Several items that are in the inventory but do not exist in the database because the mod they are from got deinstalled. Same for some techs. Finally, two players error out completely because they both have a FU status effect active but that doesn't exist anymore (Again yes, the game ignores items [which turn into PGIs] and missing techs just fine but status effects? Nah that explodes everything).

But that's about it. At line 174 the loading is done normally. At line 175, 10 seconds later, a normal Application Quit is requested, which is what usually happens when you press the quit button to exit the game. Done. No fatal exception craching Starbound logged. So in case this is, indeed, the right log, I don't see anything that would make me believe your Starbound is too bricked to run.

But then again, just delete your savefile.

Go to Starbound installation folder, "storage", and clear the contents of both the "universe" and "players" folder. This deletes all saves and resets Starbound into basically a "freshly installed" state. Then you can start testing again as to which mods cause trouble, by adding them back one by one.

(Oh and also, when you go ahead pointing fingers at Sexbound being the culprit - at least install the mod first, will ya?)

I thank you and everyone who offered assistance in this matter, and I understand your frustrations. It has been sorted, and we're good to go. I hope to never bother ya'll with something like this again.

I hope it's not a problem posting here.

I'm having the same problem BOO was having.

Here is the log, starbound.log

(NVM I'm going to delete and reinstall everything)

Here is the log after deleting and reinstalling everything. starbound.log

Both logs point to:

Caused by: (StarException) Asset source 'lustbound_sbr_patch' is missing dependency 'lox_sexbound'

(Missing Sexbound!)

This means that you have installed it improperly, or not at all! To help installing mods locally, i have a copy-pasta:

Even better, wippersnappers, it sounds like someone extracted their mod, and installed it, incorrectly. Lemme dig through several hundred images in my LL account real quick...

Ah, here;
image.png

These files should not be in the mods folder. They should also not be inside a folder, that is inside another folder. It requires specifically to be:

>/mods/Sexbound/ (These files)

NOT

>/mods/ (These files)

NOR

>/mods/Sexbound/Sexbound/ (These files)

Now i'll take the opportunity to save the above as a quotable link since it's a answer i often gotta post =V
