Need to see the entire BodySlide project to debug morphs.

it seems the tri file doesn't work correctly with nif file,
any suggestion about how to combine them right?
thanks a lot for your reply

The tri file is made by BodySlide and found by RaceMenu. As far as I know there's no reference from the nif to the tri file. I'd delete it (tri) and have BodySlide make a new one. I think it's more likely something went wrong with Outfit Studio here, it's quite easy to get an outfit where only some parts morph, or only some sliders work. There may also be discrepancies between what morphs in OS, what morphs in BS and what morphs in-game. Generally when I work with OS, I always restart BS after making changes, otherwise it seems like it's a bit of a crapshoot as to what comes out the other end.

This may or may not be related, can't tell without the BS project files: [SOLVED] Converting shared outfits in Outfit Studio results in only one outfit morphing properly when built.

Ooh... that sounds quite useful for (generally older) NPCs that don't come with a Bodyslide preset.  How do you generate tri files given you only have a nif?  I thought Bodyslide handled tri file generation during write of nifs, not using a nif as an input.

Without actually looking into the contents of a tri file I'm assuming it's morph data. Logic then dicatates that to make a tri file with meaningful content you'd need a bodyslide project associating sliders with a nif. Also there's 2 (technically 3) nifs here, the one that is in the ShapeData directory, and the one that get spit out along with the tri file.

  1. Start BS.
  2. Start OS from the bottom right corner.
  3. File -> Load outfit
  4. From file
  5. Remove existing body mesh if it has one.
  6. File -> Load reference
  7. Morph the outfit to fit the new body.
  8. Mask and (invert mask then) create a zap slider for obscured body mesh vertices if needed.
  9. Select all sliders.
  10. Slider -> Conform All
  11. Select all outfit shapes. Edit: Shapes belonging to the outfit (clothes).
  12. Shape -> Copy Bone Weight
  13. Deal with the aftermath of clipping sliders and unweighted vertices.

I mean that's general outfit conversion advice but, cut out the bits you don't need I guess?

Ok, so it's a bit more complicated than it sounds on the face of it. Ironically enough, what led me to ask was the possibility of creating new tri files for body meshes, not clothing. (although I suppose the same basic technique (or subset) would be used for body work).

thanks for the explanation.
